  1. Personally I think that the fem trooper looks fantastic. I think as its very much a fan set of armour you can take as many liberties as you like with the look. My personal thoughts though, as I have never seen a fem set of sandy armour, are quite specific. I think that the thighs and calves are a must. Personally I think they should be recut though to emphasise the "fem" thigh shape and should show a lot more of the undersuit. As sexy as they are forget the long white boots use the calf armour but taper it tighter than a male set of armour. I'd loose the ankle part of the armour and cover that section with the boots with weathering it would look pretty continuous. Finally loose the abdominal armour. I think it would look great if it was sculpted to emphasise the whole hourglass look. A straight abdomine section will just take away from the fem look. just my take for what it's worth.Posted Image

This is Great Mike and exactly the advice i was looking for many thanks, and i totally agree lose the Ab add the thighs.

The Fiancee' is not really struck on showing flesh but we are both in agreement with your comment's and will work on this tomorrow.

i'm desperatly wanting to crack on with my own armour so the sooner we get this done the better lol

  2. Hey Guys,

Well ive been very busy today Building the Fiancee's Fem trooper.

It comes in 2 stage's Normal Sandy Fem and then Sexy Sandy Fem, the pictures will explain lol

The original Fem i had came from RA and i have to say it wasnt the best quality so i had to quicly source more armour (from here infact) and Mix and match to get the best results.

We have decided that for the best effect to go without the thigh Armour however we are open to ideas, thoughts and criticism as we want to get this right for an upcoming event, Ive begun to weather some parts and soon as we nail it il weather it all.

    But dirty is definately best

im really sorry about the pictures ive had to use and old digi camera

  3. i sort of finished my Move along helmet a few weeks ago not entirely happy with it but thats another story.

So i got a set of TE armour thats now been verified as authentic so im pretty stoked about that and it will be dirtied up in due cause and popped on a mannequin , im not convinced that the helmet that came with the armour is TE maybe some one here can verify for me what it is.

i wont bore you all with the actual build process as im sure you have seen it a 100 times before, but this helmet went together like a dream, ive added the brow trim and ears which still need a little trimming and painted the earcaps too.

please ignore the pencil lines they are there to help me with the final paint up.

i remember way way back coming across a picture of a sandtrooper that i believed to be a publicity still it wasnt until years later i found out that armour actually used to belong to Art Andrews and i consider it to be the best interpretation of "Look sir Droids" ie Davin Felth, my hope is to get as near as **** it to that armour, i wont succeed lol but i will give it a good try

ok so here is what i have done so far

  4. Hey Guy's

Well now im back from my trip to the US ive hit reality with a major Thud, i had the 3rd lot of surgery last Friday to my right knee, i now have an artificial Ligament where my original MCL Ligament used to be its all good now but recovery is very slow.

To get through the boredom i want to begin building my TE ANH sandtrooper Armour and was wondering if there are any local armour builders to me that wanted to help, certain movements are hard for me so i do need help.

i suppose i could wait until im better but that could take weeks and keeping my mind occupied for those weeks is going to be a real killer.

anyway if you have spare time and would like to help me build this it would be good to have the help, all i can offer in return is plenty of refreashments lol

im based in the Birmingham area of the UK

  5. i watched ANH today on Blu Ray, unfortunately i dont have the facility to screen grab blu ray however i noticed a number of different things.

The whole weathering issue especially on the "Move along" trooper helmet has got to be re-thought.

When i tried to do mine i kind of sponged on and sponged off the colouring to get the desired effect however it is clear to see that the weathering on the "Move along" Trooper is like a splattering effect and kind of speckled look. Also the colour is more a dark grey as opposed to a sandy brown colour

    anyone else notice this

  6. Your welcome bro :)

You got a sweet kit there, the TE suit are sweet stuff, and among the best, even i think the TM & RS are a bit more accurate.

As we know, there are many versions of the TE suit you got there, like: TE2, Cap, Cap-w, ATA, PT.

So having the TE suit like you have are a rare item, so i guess many would like to own it because of its line age.

Yeah if you decide to go sandy whit it, and troop it, i would not paint it white.

Just get it dirty, and troop up.

    Cheers :)

well i keep saying its for a mannequin however, with my boy having a Mini Trooper kit, my Fiancee having a Fem trooper and a local Con coming up in November well i guess you know whats going to happen :D

  7. If it was me, i would sell it.

As there are a more accurate suits out there now, such as TM & RS.

But your TE suit is still a very nice set :)

If i should keep it, and use it as a sandy i would not paint the semi gloss hips.

Just add the weathering, and then the hair spray will make it glossy.

I would also not turn the stunt helmet into a hero helmet, but use it as a stunt helmet for the stunt sandtrooper suit.

I would only paint it, if i would never troop in it.

So the paint would stay on, and not crack off while trooping through life.

Heres a few pics of my old not painted hips TE2 armor:

    Cheers mate :)

    That looks sweet my man

    thanks for the advice too

  8. Nice!!! To me it looks like it has a semiglossy finish. Ive

used the rustoleum appliance paint and works really well for armor.

Btw!!! Def dirty it up :)

So even though i plan to dirty this up i still have to paint it a gloss white first ????

  9. When i first Joined here i mentioned that my intention was not to be a Trooping Member but simply get as much help to put together my "Move Along" Sandtrooper mannequin.

i started off with a really badly put together CAP helmet that i stripped down and re-built.

    Well Yesterday this arrived

My Plan is to kkep the helmet clean and turn that into a hero of some sort, perhaps solo.

But the armour i plan to weather and use for my Mannequin :o , would you guys do that to a TE or not ?

i'm not 100% up on TE ANH armour, i mean i know the origin's and stories etc etc, but it's the actual build im worried about, it comes with all the Sandtrooper extras which is a bonus but ive read and heard that this needs to be painted  is that correct? or as i plan to weather it do i need to bother to paint it.

and finally if it does indeed need to be painted, how on earth do i do that ?

  10. Awesome man....glad you and your family had a great time. I'd love to travel to your side of the planet someday. Maybe when my boys are a little older. What did you do in Philly?

Well when you come visit the UK be sure to look me up.

Philly was great, we saw all the Usual sights, and had a steak sandwich at Pats which was an experience in itself :D we also went to McGillian's which i was told was the oldest Pub in Philly really enjoyed that.

Loved the Art Museum and loved the tour of Independence Hall.

Oh and i videoed the future wife running the Rocky steps at the museum too :D
