    "BadBatch" TD-17105 here.
Can someone please look into the missing password - email issue? I've been trying to get a new password since the new site went live.
We are still having the same problems as before.  At least since early May. Where no emails are sent to reset passwords.

I USED to be able to use timemachine to jump back and reload my stupid, randomly generated (and encrypted) password, but now, with the new forum, that is no longer an option.

    I'll email you. Stand by.

Tapatalk should be working again me thinks.

Just noticed that the polls from last years CRL are open again. I noticed that some of the items I voted on have been cleared, as if I had never voted on them.  And it appears that non-501st members had been allowed to vote in a thread or two.

Well I guess those permissions didn't carry over during the upgrade. That sucks hard.

Maybe Strider or someone with admin access to the forum can take a look? I won't be able to peek until the weekend.

Great work Eric and the rest of the forum team!

I'm not seeing any warnings from Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer.

One thing I saw missing is the "preview" button before submitting a message. I like to ensure my posts look right before committing.

Thanks for all of your hard work!

    Charlie

Click on the eye icon n the top right of the editor bar thingy. Kinda badass actually. You can see what it looks like on a desktop, tablet or phone.

The new editor is very very WYSIWYG but I agree. I love the preview post functionality.

  4. Yep Chrome should be ok now. I just tested safari. I don't know about firefox.

Tapatalk is kicking my ass. Slow progress there. But again... use your phone browser for now. It looks awesome.

I uploaded those icons but they're still not working. Stand by... I am not quite sure how to fix that yet. I may need to install the old version of the forum to figure it out. Oops.

I have issues making edits to post.

I am trying to edit a shirt order post but will not allow me to.

    Also the phishing warning

    Also a 25100/01 error code

Can you be mores specific? What do you mean by "wont' allow you to"? A screen shot will help.

Yes again... the phishing warning will take time.

What are you doing that causes the 25100/01 error code? How about a screen capture?

Version 4.1.13.2 of the IPS Community Suite is now available. This includes a security patch and we recommend you upgrade as soon as possible.

    Also Eric, what is this.

    It shows on every page?

It should (I hope)  just show up for admins. I upgraded it just now.

      -Eric

    • The phishinv warnings will take time to get rid of. Have more patience. It will take some days before all the black lists are updated

Tapatalk is down right now. It will return soon.

I wrote this all in a mass mailing I sent but it seems no one received it.

      -Eric

    • Yeah so... this is a total pain the the banthaballs. I'm working today to clean up the redirect so we can get off google's blacklist.

I have an option to install a new version of the forum software but that would wipe out the theme entirely. But I may have to do it if I can't wipe the site clean otherwise.

I am indeed working on it... please continue to be patient.

    • Aloha Dirty Brothers and Sisters,

I apologize for the delay in posting this. Between election madness and then some work related travel I am finally getting a chance to sit down to use a keyboard that does not involve thumbs.

Please allow myself to introduce myself with a form letter going out on all the detachments forums. I am Eric Brager your Legion Membership Officer (LMO) for 2016. If you recognize the name Darth Aloha it is likely due to my involvement with FISD as a two time Detachment Leader (DL).

(this is part of a form letter I'm posting on all 15 detachments. Most of you all know who I am... I also host your web server)

The LMO office this year is here to help. We will support the MEPD's goals for updating and creating new CRLs. Through your DL we will be an advocate, advisor, and champion. Most of all we will be accessible and approachable. No longer are the LMOs aloof and unreachable.

Last year saw the small but important changes to the Operating Protocols regarding CRLs. Section 7 states a few things that define a new working relationship between the detachments and the LMO. First is that a new costume may not be added to the Legion without completed CRL. Second is that the detachments are responsible for the creation and maintenance of the CRLs not the LMO. We do not make your CRLs. The result of these changes is that base level CRL requirements should not change unless the LMO and the DL are in agreement. Thirdly and lastly the DL should solicit buy-in from the detachment community regarding changes.

In this new arrangement we have no choice but to work together. With that said every one of the 15 detachments will have an LMO representative assigned to them.

Your LMO rep is me!. I will be logging into your forums (that's easy enough) and contributing to your community. The LMO office needs to be active in your community. That way we may fully understand each detachment’s vision and needs if we are going to support your CRL needs.

What is the next step in this glorious shiny new hug-fest? I am asking the DL to send their LMO representative (or post up) a list of CRL goals as well as issues, concerns, gripes, problems, woes that we can help with. I will be integrating that list into my ongoing high level goals for 2016 that will be posted publically on the forums. I encourage any discussion between the dets and the LMO office to occur out in the open on the forums as much as possible.

If anyone reading this (and hasn’t dozed off) has a question of any kind they are welcome to PM me anywhere or email me. Your DL will be receiving my phone number shortly and is welcome to text or call anytime for any reason.

Let’s get some poodoo done this year.

      -Eric

    • You can't go wrong with RT. But I suggest going sandtrooper if you're going to wear a pack and a pauldron :)

HWT are posers who want to wear pauldrons and a pack but not get their boots dirty :woot:

      Hilarious.

      -Eric

    • Make sure when you order your RT armor that you tell him you want to build it with cover strips not overlap. Since RT trims all the parts for you this is important so he trims them right and sends you extra plastic for the strips.

Also make sure Rob knows you're doing a sandy so he sends you the right ab plate and sniper knee.

I'm eventually going to convert my RT TK into a TD... someday. I have all the parts in hand to do it....

      -Eric

    • At Rick's request I've configured the forum software so an admin needs to approve a new user. This may stop some of the spammers.

I've also written a little tutorial for the staff on how to really ban the crap out of a user and the IP they come from.

Let's hope this helps a bit.

      -Eric

    • We had it happen at another forum a year ago. Some research showed that is was in some installation on a users computer, but several had reported it was on their mobile, and they had not installed anything and their devices were not jail broken.

Ill go poke around to see how it was solved.

Edit - this may not be any help, but this is what happened.

An admin account was hacked - but it did not appear hacked to the admin. The account was left alone and password was not changed.

However, something was done to the background or banner that some of the coding was edited so when the page for the forum showed up, it would redirect to nsfw sites - and surprise that "file store 321" site.

Edit of the second -I have been informed that it wasn't the banner. It was the skin.

Ok. I'm going to start drinking now and get back to you when I sober up.

      -Eric

    • SLD is having a similar problem and I cannot... cannot... figure it out.

I'm 99% that if you google MEPD and then clink on the forum link you'll get redirected to some crapass site. It should only happen once and then never again until you got to a different machine. I can't find anything in the cookies that prevents it from happening after the first time.

I think its on the forum side because the google URL looks valid.

Maybe a forum upgrade will help? Per-PLEXED!

      It should be OS independent.

      -Eric

    • Hi Rick, there still seem to be some issues with faulty DNS Servers which means that MEPD is not accessible from a number of locations but as you said they're working on it. I'm actually using a proxy server from the US because Germany is currently cut off ;-)Looking forward to seeing the new CRL in action!

My hope is that by now the DNS crap has been sorted out. It was totally my fault as I forgot one critical step in the process.

My apologies and thank you for your patience.

If you are or know someone still having trouble please contact me asap via PM here or FISD.
