    Lab pipe

Hey Mike, that is most helpful i actually grabbed some PVC and some end caps and was going to try my luck at making the pipe myself. But, if I totally bomb it I have a source and a place to get a nice one thanks a million bud.

  5. Hey guys, I have a quick question I got a couple of radar dishes and was curious as to what is the proper color configuration. It seems like some are painted black and white??? and some are just left the way they are any help would be great. Ecoli

    Radar Dish

Not trying to steal anyones thread but it should be white and what diameter???
  7. Robbie, Hey man here is a good thread from Pandatrooper that explains what paints he used and why. He is quite an artist himself and is really good at simplifying processes that we all can follow. In this I believe he is using a good acrylic paint. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7290 I know some other people use Fullers earth, In fact the weathering on a Dirty Boy pack that I just received is Fullers Earth if I am not mistaken. He will corect me if I am wrong. It looks way cool Really sandy etc. hope my link works and you get some more responses
  8. Woody, The more I see pics of the sergeant the more I love the white pauldron, the blaster, everything. A new project in mind says I. Great looking TD, I absolutely love it.
  9. Out of curiosity what were you using for the silver in on the teeth, I used a testors paint pen but I really like how yours came out.
  10. Oh that site is totally being pinned, one more quick question the tube with the radar dish is a 2" pipe by 29" long???, Dirty I think you answered this before and am just trying to get it sorted. My eyes may be off but it looks like that lab pipe is somewhat smaller?? What pipe has everyone else been using??? Thanks guys
  11. Thanks Guys, It has been a project and I have almost everything but my armour at this point. Its just those fine details that keep popping up that makes it something new everyday E
  12. Hey, I was just curious after checking out pandatroopers build. Did the Cantina trooper have the "lab pipe on the left side of the pack" I was shooting for that trooper and am trying to tighten up my Dirty Boy pack . I was originally using the CRL for reference which shows that that trooper had a move along backpack. With Pandatroopers build and his screen shots is it a move along with another pipe on the left??? Thanks Guys
  13. Yeah, I kinda realized that after I put it all together and unfortunately glued the heck out of it. Something for next time, by the way I dig your whole suit I kinda got sucked into a TX, I bought the lid then noticed my size black boots were being sold on the spec ops forum so i picked those up. I now have just decided I am going to build a TD then a TX. I already ordered the TD kit. I like how the AM looks, but may wait a bit till ATA starts producing some black kits in ABS. Any advice on my paint issues? Thanks man
  14. Hey Panda, great tutorial I have a quick question what size is that Lab pipe you are using diameter etc. Heck if you know the name of the part too I would be grateful. I too am shooting for that trooper for my TD. Thanks
  15. Ok so my first lid build its a black CAP-W from SCOOTCH http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n488/ecolema1/DSCN0105.jpg http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n488/ecolema1/DSCN0104.jpg Side view this is where I had some issues, when I tape off the flat black ear bumps I notice I got a raised edge where the tape met the tape-off, anyway to fix that? I can see why painting by hand may be easier. http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n488/ecolema1/DSCN0101.jpg So here is the helmet Problem #1- cutting the ears flush was a real challenge, I ended up bondoing the gap. good photo of no gap I would prefer not to have to do that. http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n488/ecolema1/DSCN0105.jpg Problem #2- painting on the vocoder and the ears left raised edges, not sure if this was normal but I am being picky. Problem #3- My paint shack is an outdoor closet to my apartment that I taped and put painters plastic up. I rubbed some wet paint against the plastic and a few expletives later tried to fix on the spot. Problem #4- how to protect the paint and my kit from the elements? I not only used Scootch's build but also Panda's they were quite helpful and would love any input or questions. Pandatrooper if you are out there feel free to comment. I would also say that being my first build it turned out ok, but I am a ways away from Rolf's TD. congrats on SWAT status man your armour is a piece of art. Thanks guys
  16. Good Evening, So let me first explain that although I have been heavily involved with a TD i.e. waiting on parts pieces to come available, waiting on an AP kit, etc. I saw a TX helmet kit up on the boards so I picked it up to give it a try before my kit arrives. Thanks Scootch. Anyway long story short here are photos of the finished product. Criticism is welcome, I am going to try and also list what I had probs with and hopefully I can get some good feedback.
  17. Hey Man, Quick question on the paint technique I just painted a lid, mainly the vocoder and the ear bumps, and was getting a raised edge from where the lid was taped off and the paint I sprayed. Yours edges look really flush to the white how did you do that? I really looks good, and wanted to know for future projects. Thansk
  18. That weathering looks great man!!! I like th contrast from really white to really dirty. Out of curiosity what did you use?
  19. Hey guys thanks for hitting me back I took the pattern for my sources and decided to just email MightyTank he can prob hook it up and again as mentioned $5 is prob easier than dealing with glue and messing it up. Ecoli
  20. Oh sorry, To clarify I do not have my kit yet I am waiting. Ecoli
  21. Hey panda, AP said that his does not come with a knee plate "You can make both version with mine, the only thing you need to make yourself is the diamond knee piece but I can include the matching ABS plastic so you cann easily make one, I knwo there's a pattern somewhere, ask around" I will have to make it myself. He kinda hinted that there was a pattern out in the forums somewhere??? Ecoli
  22. Hey Guys, As you know I ordered an AP kit a bit ago and I will need a good pattern to do the sniper knee plate. I have not been able to find an accurate pattern. Did I miss it somewhere? Thanks Ecoli
