Yeah, those socks reminded me of the days of my mispent youth.
-
to be screen accurate you would need knee high tube socks with red stripes
Seriously?!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes.
I was able to purchase an Under Amour compression pants for half off this weekend. I'm planning on getting an UA shirt, but wonder if it should be a crew collar or just plain.
Also what kind of socks should I be wearing? I plan on getting TK boots but haven't gotten that far yet.

Looks like you've raised the bar, Terry. Great suit all the way around!

Wow, more great stuff from Terry!

There's a member here called "Woodchuck' that is a genius with wood working. He makes blasters, etc. and created these great stands. I asked for mine to have the Imperial Cog logo as the base with a gunmetal finish.
You can find more info here

Thanks for posting the link, Panda.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys. Right now I don't know the first thing about how backpacks are put together, so have some studying to do. I just thought it would be cool to be able to portray different TDs based on the pauldron being worn.

Looks great, Panda. Where did you get the stand used for the helmet in your pictures?

Welcome, Josh. Looking forward to seeing your armor.

I'm new to armor building including the backpack. Because of this I haven't yet figured out how the components for the backpack are attached to the frame. I'm wondering if it's possible to build a backpack with components that can be swapped out. In this way one generic backpack can be made to resemble the different ones saw in ANH based on the owner's desire at the time.
Just curious if it's possible.

Wow! Good stuff!

Cool, thanks for the information. I didn't know there were so many different backpacks till I came here.

When getting approval for the 501st does the pauldron color have to match the type of backpack you're wearing? If I ever complete an armor set, I'd like to have more than one pauldron color to use when ever the mood strikes, but don't want to buy more than one backpack type. Hope this makes sense.

I grew up and am currently living in Rolla. If I ever complete my armor and get approved I don't know if I'd join the Springfield or St Louis groups since I'm equally distant from both.
Thanks for the welcome, guys!

Hey everyone,
My name is Pat from Missouri. I have had a sandtrooper collecting focus for about a year and a half now.
I've known about the 501st but hadn't seen any of the armor "in the flesh" till I went to Star Wars in Concert. I was really blown away by the armors I saw there.
Anyway I'd really like to have a suit of my own, but think I like the skills to pull it off especially with so many components being part of the TD set-up. Any way I'd like to hang out and learn some more. Ny advice on armor for someone that is 6' and 190 lbs?
