  1. I finally received a Hero neckseal from my seamstress. At the moment I do not have any stock BUT I will be taking orders thru email. If you're interested please send me an email with your neck size. To find out what your neck size is, simply take a tailors measuring tape(DO NOT USE A METAL CARPENTERS MEASURING TAPE)and wrap it around the thickest part of your neck right across your adams apple(if you have one). These neckseals are sized exact to size. If you want a loose fit then add to your measurement what you think is right.

I tried to keep these hero neckseals as low as possible but the cheapest I could price them is $40.00 plus shipping. These neckseals are far more difficult to make than the regular stunt neckseals.

If you're interested in buying one of these neckseals please send me an email to: gotarmor@yahoo.com and send me your necksize. I will produce the neckseal and email you back when it is completed and ask you to make the PayPal payment of $46.00 U.S.P.S. Priority shipping included(inside the U.S.)

  2. really impressive work!! specially on the face radio!

i think the blue paint that you used is not really good, perhaps just the light/picture done this.

Should the blue be more grey or what do you think i should do to the blue to make it right? Maybe more grey? I shot the blue over a black base. This is good, I like constructive criticism.

  3. This helps alot. With your measurement it will be super great since I need to know how wide it is the box and also how thick the hoose is. Even if yours isnĀ“t super accurate, it will be good enought :)

    Here's my exaust port.

    Body measures 4-3/4"

The tube measures 4-1/2" but cut it longer because it goes inside the body about 2" inside.

I used 1/2" pvc pipe then the cap is 3/4" pvc pipe cut at about a 45 degree angle

I don't know what I used for the piece that the hose clamp is clamped to. It's made of pvc and I think it goes inside a rubber hose because it has "steps". I bought it at ACE for about $0.90

The width of the body is 2-1/2"

Excuse the Phone pics, my phone kinda sucks.

  4. I began by building the Sonix radio with ABS plastic using apeers template.

    Posted Image

I used tylenol caps for the small knobs.

    Posted Image

I also built the box out of ABS adding supports on every corner.

    Posted Image

I used Crashmann's large radio knob and Radio shack toggle switches. Then I sprayed the whole thing in primer then in flat black.

    Posted Image

I also used Crashmann's mushrooms, as you can see they are way better than the pudding cups I bought on Ebay.

    Posted Image

I managed to bend the top of the frame to make it more accurate.

    Posted Image

I cut pvc pipe at a 45 degree angle and mounted the shotgun shells on it to separate the shells from the seed trays.

    End result

I used a round soap dish that has a flat top to make the exaust manifold. I added some small triangles too.

I then added all the details, hose clamp and zip tie.

    Posted Image

I used the faucet cover and made a PVC frame.

    Here's the completed pack.

  5. Hey Efrain, if you want wipes bottles that have a more "straight" shape, use computer monitor cleaning wipes, or whiteboard cleaning wipes bottles. I used those for my build, and I think they are more similar in shape to screen used.

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll go to Office Depot see if they carry them, maybe Fry's electronics.

That looks great Efrain! Very nice work capturing the details and getting everything nice and straight :duim:

Hmm, are those R2D2 footshells I see in the background B)

Yeah, I have an aluminum droid but I stopped working on it. I don't know the forst thing about Remote Control so that build is on hold.

  7. Nice work

I think it prints out a lil smaller (on A4 paper) than intended. However, I think this will work in my favour as my fieldpack is now smaller and more proportionate to me.

Now to make it into a faceplate and attach it to a hobby box for some sort of functionality

    Cheers!

My print out came out smaller too BUT I took it to Office Depot and had it blown up by 10 percent and it corrected the size perfectly. I just made about 5 copies and cut them out for templates.

  8. You're counting the number of ribs when the neckseal is compressed in the front and the rear is stretched out. The neckseal collapses when you look down like Han and Luke in the photo you photoshopped. If you look at the photo where Luke is looking up at Han or the photo where both Han and Luke are looking forward, you will count 9 ribs and the tenth would be the short rib.

My neckseals have 9mm ribs, the height of the 10 ribs is 83mm. Now if I make a neckseal with the same size of ribs(9mm) and I add 14 ribs at the rear and 7 at the front, you will have a neckseal that measures 50mm at the front and 120mm at the rear. 50mm would not reach the bottom of the adams apple and 120mm would reach up to the same height as the middle of the ear. If you would put the neckseal on a flat surface, the neckseal would look awkward and not tapered. I'm sorry to dissagree but that does not add up to a screen accurate seal.

  9. I think the TD's had the straight cut and the Heroes had the top rib cut short only because Han and Luke were the only stormtroopers who took their helmets off in front of the camera. So, I think the costume crew said, let's pimp-out these seals.

About the rib count, I still count 10 ribs including the cut rib on top. I'm going to make a few, maybe half a dozen chin cut neckseals and see what they look like. I bought a different type of material that looks dead-on to Han and Luke's neckseals. I'ts the same material only thicker and not that shiny. It still has a shine to it but does not have a "wet look" if that makes any sence. Dead-on look. I can't wait to get this material to my seamstress. I'll ship the material out to her today. She can make half a dozen in a day. I'll expect to receive them by Monday October 4th.

  10. Heres one I made of ABS 3MM AND 6MM thick plastic. I couldn't afford all of Crashmann's radio knobs so I found a Tylenol tube and used the lid as my small knobs I just did some minor mods. First I filed off the instructions on top of the caps, then I drilled out some holes and stuck some very small pieces of wooden dowels to make the bumps on the knobs. I also messed up on the 16 small speaker details. They were supposed to be flipped. I hope nobody notices. I'll post up the finished radio when I finish it.

Thanks apeers for that sweet template. One suggestion... the switch squares need to be smaller than the small knob squares. I looked at the original Sonix radio and the two large squares where the large knob and the radio face dial is, do not line up with the four small squares.

  11. I have a question for you guys. Is't the exhaust box round at the top and flat at the base? I was looking at the "Move along" pack and I swear it's round. If it is, I have a solution. I found a plastic box that is round at the top and flat at the base. I found it in my shower caddy, it belongs to the wife and I'm gonna ask her where she bought it from later on today.
