  1. Thought of that as a last resort. Figured it would be easier to just start over from scratch. These were not assembled by me so that is why they are not fitting properly. The person who had this kit before me started some of the assembly, these wer part of what he did already.

    Are the seams velcroed?

  2. Not bad... but yeah, no go on deployment with it.

First off, you know you don't have to have a BFG to be deployed. A proper E-11 works just fine. Most people like to get a BFG of some sort of the deployment (who can blame them?!) but it's not required.

That being said... one place you can get a really nice one right now is from me here. B)

I wouldn't be caught dead carrying one of those wimpy E-11s. Lol. I sent you a PM. Very interested!!

  3. Hey everybody,

I recently finished building an MG 34 out of wood not too long ago and was wondering if I have a chance at getting deployed with it. I assume I probably don't. I have included pics below. If it's too inaccurate, can anyone direct me to a kit or pre existing replica I can buy? Thanks!

  4. Still looking for these. Contacted AM and AP armor. They are not pulling individual parts right now. Anyone with any other ideas? :0Lighten:

Have you tried taking extra abs plastic strips from your kit and shimming the seams to make your current forearms larger?

  5. Hey y'all. TD 2298 here. I just finished my armor, pack and rifle and am doing the final tweaks to get deployed status with the MEPD. I'm already addicted to trooping and am looking forward to participating in star wars weekends this year! Everyone on the boards here have been extremely helpful with pointers on getting my armor up to code.

  6. I was one of many members who put in a group order via the Redback Garrison to MAZON GOALIE BAG This bag is HUGE!! It fits my entire TD as well as my TD backpack, with room to spare,,,well worth the investment

Thanks for all the feedback. I wound up storing it on top of my bin as well. I never thought to use a hockey bag though. I've been playing hockey as a goalie for a while and actually have a bag already and never even thought of that.

  7. No. Mine are elastic as well. It's Crashmann's kit, right? If you have them attached like I do here then all you have to do is wrap / glue the bottom "loop" a bit tighter.

I literally cut the loop I had glued off and then looped and glued (using E-600 btw) them again and it was just about perfect. But, of course, you'll want to measure it for yourself. I guesstimated. I figured I had some "play" since they are elastic. I was right. B)

I was able to rig up a strap that fits under my armpits and around my back that really holds the pack at a solid height. I used polypropylene straps so there isn't any change in the length. The elastic straps just keep the pack from bouncing around and don't have to support it's full weight now. I'll get to try it out trooping this weekend.

  8. Thanks for all of your feedback guys. I actually started making the changes today that you guys have been suggesting. That is Velcro on my gloves as I have been struggling for a while trying to get them to fit better and not bunch up. Today I went to the surf shop and bought a tight fitting pair of diving gloves which fit much better. They probally are more accurate looking since I heard that the original TDs actually more rubber gloves. Is that true? Once again, thanks for your input. You guys know your stuff!

  9. Looking good man!

That's a great pack for sure, and good lookin' armor / weathering! B)

One question... do you have the 3 ab plate buttons and the 3 "rivet covers" on your belt (left, center & right)?

Then a few picky things (if you care).

    1) I'd raise the thighs up some.

    2) I'd get better / tighter fitting gloves

    3) I'd round the bottom of the ammo plate on your right thigh.

    4) I'd wrap more black tape on the top black tape wrap on your pack.

Those are all suggestions to make it even better / more accurate... but they're just that. B)

    Great job!

thanks for the feedback! Great suggestions! I'll have to add those buttons. What

do the rivet covers on the belt look like? Not sure about those.
