  1. Boy I am jealous, 2 tks, 1 Vader, 1 gurad and I sooooooo want to be Pred.

Slowly catch the monkey I think.

So I have the head but I am thinking of sculpting one of my own as I think that may be quite easy, casting it will be the hardest.

My first and next tackle is really the body, is it better to buy or scuplt and latex on a sculpted mannequin/life form. I am worried if I buy one it will be loose if I sculpt on a padded mannequin can I not pad once pulled off

Cheers guys, I really need some help here and don't want to fall into the traps that I did when i first started TK, ie, buy and then have to upgrade everything. I want it right first time if I can

    Best wishes

  2. Hi all,

I'm now back, all my guys and girls got off safely.

Brize is a better place than I remember :-)

Still have a couple of hundred to move over next 3 months and will be doing my best for them when needed,

I also now have an iphone, my mates are taking the mickey as I am now modern, so I can always be around, why did I wait so long, contract played a big bit.

I can't put the thing down now so always ready for a hello.

    Best wishes

  3. Hi all,

I can't thank Smally enough for a great trade,

Always been a fan of Pred and now I have this lovely head.

I hope it will be the start of a full set up, NOT in place of SW by the way but more a new addition to a props room.

Looking to get some dreads now and then will add the quills.

Smally is the best to deal with and I love it, if any memebers are on Hunters please let me know as I am very very new to that direction of the hobby.

  4. As I go back to work tonight I can't really do any serioud building, so I took an old mannequin I have and have made my mock up guard.

The helmet will be a few weeks work and will be on the back burner until I get my TD ready and finish my other commitments.

In the mean time, he will be guarding my room, if I can fit him in :D

I wont be wearing him, it is just another display piece.

    Best wishes to you all

Me and Smally are trooping in May and that is my first so that is where my rad started

    best wishes mate

  9. I was disgusted with the way some people have acted on the AA forum and posted the like.

I am not saying AA is to be defended or am I asking anyone to support him, equally I am not saying not to, but things on HIS OWN page seemed to be getting out of hand, particularly by members from forums, they even started to get personal to other people that had posted.

I agree that there is a lot to be said, and I think these forums are a good means, I just wish they had done it better, and if they did have something to say, not have PERSONAL digs at others who have posted.

I have owned AA, I have a Spec lid now, but I also like all my other lids, that is called sitting on the fence :D

    Best wishes

  10. Thanks guys, my problem is I love building and painting.

I do lids, models and armour- all for myslef and I have to be in the mood, really motivate myself or I go from one to another.

I have Vaders too, which I can't wear as I am too small but I like the gradual upgrade of them-downtime.

Me TK, my mate Vader (it was a quick dress and I knew I was going TD so why no knee or button extras) one of my Vaders

I also like to finish to the best I can, as mostly it is for display in my room, so it sometimes takes me a long time- by then new things have been discovered, anothe circle.

I now have an aim as I want to Troop soon and this has helped me a lot to keep going.

Best wishes and thanks for all the help, MY FULL JOB BELOW

Me in Aus, Mascot was for a pic, a RM DM does not normally do this ;)

  11. Hi all

Well I am getting ready for a Troop in May and my pack is nearly done.

As you will see below a complete change from the one I started and never finished 7 years ago. It shows that you only learn from forums as this.

I have spent an age getting everything as I liked and although not the best I hope it is close.

    Frame scratch ABS pipe

    Tupperware Stow and Go

Radio, my own build and casting, scartch built ABS box

    Crashmann boxes

Cystern-UK adapted ( sculpted top) with TW stacks

Also have the TW jello pot and TW dish, also my castings of them

Finishing off with my spare TK tube ends and detonater bits.

Stinger, thanks to Quartermaster-a real diamond

Items are only PLACED or TAPED in place hence the unflush, squareness

Hope you like, I want to have it all ready before I paint as that is the most fun to me

My first attempt-never finished and nearly all replaced(only cystern left)

  12. Hi all,

I really appreciate the comments and best wishes

A good day on casting, I now have these,

    Posted Image

It took 2 kg of rubber and I am not happy with the centre but my aim is to upgrade that bit, hence the breakdown next, the bits are loose and not glued

    Posted Image

    Posted Image

Also thank someone for plastic polish, TO CLEAN THE WORKTOP BEFORE MY WIFE SEES IT, my not so good workshop and bad casts

I still need to do the knobs and handles but all being well it will be finished soon, I am on a deadline as i want to Troop in May-Smally and Woody have been a great help

All will have the switch inserts as on the left one, its a plug with a pre sunk hole so you can drill and add the switch lever, it can also be turned for a variety-all up-all.down-all. Up-down/down-up.

I now have 3 casts and a master, 1 is to a friend and 1 will be mine, I am going to offer the other on the FS section as I need the money to make the mould for the final bits.

Please keep looking as I will be doing the hadles and knobs over the next 2 weeks, and the centre changes that I am not happy with

    Best wishes

  13. Hi all

Well this took me a little longer than I planned and not quite finished but here we are at the minute.

All is scratchbuilt, I wont be making another in a hurry :-)

The yellow casting are from my initial masters, I cast as I go incase of mistakes and to amend the cast.

I have tried to incorporate the little details of the original and to be as accurate as possible. Inner ring for dial and sunken round head rivets.

Thanks to Woody I have added the bevel to the edges as the original so it looks less square and harsh, as does the original pic I used.

I hope I have the seperate depths about right

    It measures a fraction over 8 1/2 " by exactly 6.6"

The dial cover is seperate and the dial and lense can be added in a recess on the baseplate first.

The switches will be optional up/down

The centre is seperate to allow it to be fixed to a box with screws, the switches and centre will then cover those

Still have to do the dials and redoing the centre-hence no pics of what I have

It will be as a complete front unit on plate

Will cast one this weekend and post, will offer these later if interested by not yet :-)(they will be quality but reasonable like my tips-this hobby can be v expensive ;) )

    Love to hear your comments.

    Best wishes

  15. Hi all,

I dug one of my old moulds out and can offer these to anyone interested.

    £8.00 plus shipping.

I can let you know the shipping by PM.

They are cast off my original in high quality urethane, the same as I use for my tips.

It makes them more solid than the original and can be drilled with a screw epoxied at the rear for a strong fit-if wished to fit that way

They do use quite a bit of resin as they are as deep as the original

They will come primed in white car primer and ready for a gloss coat

I am waiting on some more resin ( hopefully this week)and if you PM me I will let you know when cast.

I won't take any payment until ready to ship.

    Best wishes
