  1. I see the frown is painted black(RoTJ style). You will want to paint it grey to give it a more ANH look. So far I think the dirtying up paint job looks good.
  2. I used "DecoArt" Crafters acrylic- Burnt Umber and "Delta Creamcoat"- Sandstone, also an acrylic. Water based and easy to use. Worked great.
  3. I have done enough to my armor I will know its me in a picture. But theres something very ominous about seeing a lineup of stormtroopers that look very much alike.........
  4. I got the same email Guns. I emailed the "seller" and he told me it was a scam. I then sent the info to Ebay, and have heard nothing from them.

    help!

I know a guy that took an old pair of glasses, took the lenses out of them, then glue them into his bucket. He hot glued them along the sides of his buckets lenses. Worked perfect.
  6. Just FYI, it's nowhere near full size And carrying that in public will get you in hot water with the police.
  7. My first outing in my TK armor I only had one slight malfunction, knee plate came off. And that was really amazing. I had the armor "somewhat together" before I arrived, but with 45 min to go before the opening parade my armor was not wearable by any means. I had one guy in my garrison that helped me out and we got it ready and I marched in the parade. Thank the maker it was at a con and a short walk. There are guys in every garrison that can fix anything, they are good to have as friends.
  8. **** dude, glad everyone was ok. That looks like a serious hit.
  9. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7792/starwars4ok.jpg Found on the Georgia Garrison website.
  10. Yes I am thinking about dying it black. Gonna get some fabric dye and give it a shot. It will be awhile till my next trooping outing, but I will get pics when I can. I am also thinking about sewing a MEPD patch on it. And as far as someone giving you flak about not being canon........any time someone starts that crap with me I end the discussion with one question: "Was your costume screen used?" ( As I start inspecting their costume.) They tend to shut up at that point.........
  11. I jus picked up one of these: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/WIN116-798-1377.html It has the look of something a sandtrooper would wear. Has alot of space and has a large loop in the back that your belt will fit through. (once you remove a small amount of stitchimg.) And for a whopping $2. **** ya can't beat that.
  12. Ouch........good luck!!
  13. Type of glue called Plastic Welder.
  14. I logged out and logged back in, and still can't view the 501st area.
  15. I need access to the 501st area.
  16. Oh what the heck, send me the info also.
  17. Oh I know its all about fun, charity events, and making kids smile. What I am saying is how can the Legion be so lax on Sandtrooper requirements yet so strict on others. And I agree as full fledged Sandtroopers(which I will be deployed soon.) we hold oursevles to a higher standard, much like the Pathfinders do. (Of which I am also.)
  18. I guess my question amounts to this: How can the Legion approve TD designations to troopers who only have a BFG, pouches and a backpack? It seems to me that the Sandtroopers in ANH had all the articles required by the MEPD for deployment. (One or two may not have carried a BFG.) It amazes me that the Legion Council can absolutely rip some peoples costumes apart for not being accurate, then turn around and approve the TD designation for someone with less than half the things the Sandtroopers in the movie have. To me the Sandtrooper being dirty is the same as Vader wearing his cloak/cape, or a Scout wearing a cumberbun. Same with the other things like flat green lenses, ab plate, etc. In my opinion the Council should give current TDs 6 months to get up to MEPD standard, if by 6 months they are not up to standard revert them to TK status. I know some of you may not agrre with this, and thats cool. It is after all just my opinion.
  19. I don't know if this site has been posted yet or not, and I am not pimping their products. But **** there are some nice pics on this site. I really want the M5-15 they have, but at $870 its a bit much. But as a referance for building a MG-15 you won't find better pics than these. http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php ... 3c2462b5e7
  20. Paul, I am a member of the Ohio Garrison Command staff. If you could try to get me any info on the person who ripped you off I would appreciate it. And if possible we might be able to help get your money back. (If you still have some kind of proof of the transaction after so long.) We had one person that was kicked out of the Garrison over a year ago because of shady dealings. Lastly there are a couple new prop makers here in Ohio, with more on the way. Don't be afraid to get on the Ohio Garrison forums and ask about dealers here in Ohio, and if you do have problems we NEED to know about it.
  21. Hey guys, I too have benn bitten by the dirty bug. I have had my TK armor for almost 2 years now. We have several tks in the part of Ohio where I live, but we only had one TD. Since he,(Dirty Boy) had to move, we now have no TD in the area. Well I am in the process of correcting that. I have the pauldron, pouches, ab piece, sniper plate, and flat green lenses. I also have a nice mg-15. I am modding my bucket this weekend, and next weekend I am handing over my armor to be airbrushed dirty by a friend. (and fellew 501st member.) I must compliment you guys on this site. It never ceases to amaze me how my fellow 501st members can make such awesome costumes. And the amount of info I have found here was instrumental in my deciding to go TD.
