  1. Hi I run www.trooperdecals.com

I know there are problems with the rt, but i havent been able to get my hands on one... yet, (i have posted on my site that they are not suitable),

I actually used your decals on my RT bucket. They were fine in my opinion but I'm no expert. I can post some shots up once I get a break from my work schedule. I've been meaning to take some pics of my bucket anyway since I've been planning to redo some of my dirt and repaint the teeth.

  2. I like my armour rough as ****, just like on screen I couldn't wait to add the scuff marks and smudges. It makes the armour look much more realistic an much better IMO

    Is that FX armor?

    Nope, that's TM's (Troopermaster's) own creation.

  3. I bought one from B&Q which is like Home Depot but in the UK and it was about £20.00 ($40.00). If you are reshaping your armour narrower, what I do is use tape to pull it narrower while I heat the plastic gently. I do this for a few minutes but making sure the heat gun is about 8-10 inches away and run the gun up and down and side to side, a bit like spray painting. Then I let it cool and take the tape off and if done right, it should take the new shape, if not then repeat the process. I use the same method for widening but I would make a template to push out the plastic while heating rather than pulling it in.

    Hope that helps!

    -Paul.

Great tips. I hadn't even thought of using tape. Much more efficient than what I was planning which would probably have ended with me getting burnt...or something.

I'll try that Harborfrieght place. That price trumps some of the ones on ebay. Thanks, TK4510!

    Thanks for the replies, everyone.

  4. Hey there fellas,

I'm looking to buy a heat gun to do even more modifications to my suit. I've lost a lot of weight to the point where I can now "clam shell" my ab and kidney plates. But I need to reform them a bit to get a better fit. I went to Home Depot looking for a heat gun. I ain't doin that again since they were expensive with the few they had there. So, off to ebay since they're cheaper. But what I need to know is if any one here has a recommended brand to look out for?

  5. Glenn,

While certainly not connected to the issue of TKs with pauldrons, I was wondering if you were a martial artist?

Part of your signature line reads, "There is no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard. There is only another fist."

I knew Chuck Norris in Southern California where he had opened his first studio in the city of Torrance. Many years later while in the United States Air Force, I would travel to South Korea and train under Master LEE HON IN who taught Korean Tang Soo Do at Osan Air Base where Chuck earned his first degree black belt.

    T

Coincidentally enough I am a martial artist. In terms of background I have a 1st degree belt in Hapkido but I am no where close to being a butt kicker, lol. I got that particular line about Chuck Norris from one of those "Chuck Norris Facts" satirical joke sites that I found hilarious. That's pretty cool that you know him.

Thinking about martial arts has now spawned a new name:

Darth Kwan Do And I call dibs.

  6. you should probably talk to some one who can make metal armor and such

You know what, I forogot to take a look at your RomFX make shift case you made more closely at the BBQ. I looked at Larry's but I wanted to know if all you did was split the box down the middle (aside for modifying the sides and bottoms, I mean). I was able to figure out why my RomFX wasn't working so now I need to get back to making a case for it.

I bought a project box from Radioshack though. I can't remember if you used one from there or if Larry said you got another off the net. I only took a quick glance at it while we were at Shoreleave.

  7. Hello peeps,

I need to add a strip of flat metal across my backpack from one end to the other to give my boxes some supoort. Do they sell strips of bendable metal at Home Depot? I walked around yesterday but it was close to closing time so I couldn't take my time. I asked for help but the people at the HD near me are.....not very helpful. At all. The only thing I can come up with is buying an aluminum yard stick and cutting that bad boy up. But if they sell stuff like this pre-made (almost like clamps I guess) then that would be better.

  8. How do I put them together? Connecting the boxes to the frame won't be hard. I'm just at a loss on how you guys connected the boxes to each other. Electrical tape and that's it? Or is there a recommended method? I've already started trimming and hope to have the main boxes painted and then installed by tomorrow. Suggestions? Oh, and what about strapping systems?

  9. Did your frame come with two canvas straps that ran across the body? I have a frame that looks similar that I've already painted and bent. Just waiting on my boxes and the time to pimp slap that bad boy together. Although in hinde sight I should've cut the tops off the side framing and took off the canvas straps before I painted but...oh well. I find that I tend to do things bass ackwards at times.

    Hey gang,

I'm doing okay. Just thought I'd check in to see what y'all are up to. I'll be sure to answer ALL the emails soon.

Ooooh, Hawaii Vice. Or rather, it's....Hawaii Five-O! Dah dah dAAh dAAh daaah duhhh...

Sorry. I'm sure you've heard that one time too many already.

  11. Hamster water bottles? Man...I never even considered that. And here I have a full bottle of Metamucil that I was, because I'm not one to waste things, going to start drinking. Glad I can forgo that and just....uh...keep it around, lol. Looks like I'll be heading to Walmart this weekend.

  12. cool! when you press them together you start to really see it. maybe its a decendent!

Yeah, this one really had me thinking.

I'm trying to find a bigger tray that has those indentions and that could be like the original boxes. But this gets me wondering: Do medical trays overseas differ than some of the ones here? And if so....what other company makes or made medical trays like that.

  13. Hey guys, this is Ashaman. Seth allowed me to change my name since I use this one (Arppegio) on the other Star Wars costume forums. Thanks, Seth!

Anyway, on to the main boxes. I am now leaning more and more towards some sort of old medical trays as to what was used back then. The images below are of a medical tray I had taken the other day. The only reason I am posting these up is because I'm only pointing out those little weird indentations on the corners of the boxes. These are not answers to what the real boxes were. They are just a curious puzzle that ads to the speculation.

Also, please ignore the time stamps on the images. My camera doesn't seem to work right even after I set the correct time and date.

  14. I really like youre idea. I think the concentration of information and help that I received here would be great to have on the TK side since there is so little or rather scattered, I should say.

BTW, I've registered under the name "Arppegio" over there. It's what I use on the Clonetroopers and Old Line Garrison Forums.
