  1. That's just such a sweet looking set of armor. Definitely like the helmet... looks very cool. Wouldn't mind getting one of those sets of armor one day. Looking forward to see you wear it! ,)
  2. Thanks TK-2581 & TD-1536 for that warm welcome. Have been lurking for about a month now, only signed up a few days ago and now thought it was time to make my pressence known. It really feels like a cool place to get lots and lots of information on everything stormtrooopers. Am looking forward to getting to know you all and possibly to become part of this community, by acquiring a set of armor. I'm a helmet collector, but the Stormtrooper is actually the only character I am, atm, interested in acquiring the full armor for. Others armors will perhaps be added to my wish list later, such as the Scout armor - though there are no accurate helmet props of those out there yet - and possibly also a Vader... but I'm getting ahead of myself here. I've got an AP ANH Trooper helmet (don't know if it's wise to mention the makers' full names or nicks, in case LFL are watchin, but I think you know what maker I'm talking about), a Rubies Supreme Vader helmet that I'm currently customizing, as well as a styrene cast of what appears to be a GH recast facemask (yes, I know... recasting is a big no no, and if I had known, and had had a bit more money I might have reconsidered.) Hope you're all having a good time. I know I am... so cheers.
  3. Though I like the_prop_master's take on it, I still can't see it as anything but wrinkled gaffer tape or double sided tabe to hold the original hand guard on, but of course, not knowing how these were originally held on to the gloves I cannot of course be certain. It just doesn't appear to have any depth to it, it appears completely flat - in those pictures you can see a white edge around the hand guards on the other troopers, indicating that they have mass and are not merely flat, that single different looking hand guard does not. Maybe I'm just seeing things... but I am not convinced that it is anything other than wrinkled tape of some sort with light and shadow making it look like it has markings on it. Just my 42 cents.
  4. Hello there, all of you, I'm the new new guy with a love for all things Star Wars and have recently gotten into collecting Star Wars helmets, wanting only the best. Yes, I know, I guess I should have announced my arrival somewhere else, but I couldn't really find the proper place for announcing myself to you all... so I decided to do it here... so I could also ask my first question at the same time... heh... Well, basically, I'm a 26-year-old bloke from Denmark and I have just loved the look of the Stormtroopers for as long as I can remember. I know this is a forum for "sandtroopers", but I couldn't really find a forum for "stormtroopers" and it appears that all the coolest people are here anyway... so I might as well stay... and who knows... maybe I'll eventually get persuaded into thinking that the sandtroopers are the coolest stormtroopers... hehe... well, I guess you got your work cut out for you then! ,) Well, on with the point; my name is Carsten Hedegaard... and now to my question: (I know this is a fairly big first question and though I "do" know a little about who the makers are of Stormtrooper armor out there - self-educated by spending many hours at www.starwarshelmets.com - though, I still consider myself somewhat of a novice and would appreciate all the info I can get.) I'm not really interested in the FX amor. I would prefer it as accurate as possible. So my question is: (Yes, I know... get to the point, already...) Who are the maker(s) of movie accurate armor? (I have heard a little bit about GF being fairly accurate, and especially good stuff about TE. I have also heard some things about Movie FX armor, but am I right in understanding that it is not really that accurate?) And how much should I expect to pay for only the armor? (not bodysuit, shoes, straps, holster, etc. - just the armor parts) I know those are some pretty big questions which have sparked a lot of debate in other forums where I have asked this question, but I really hope you can help me. I'm not looking to buy right now, but could definitely be interested in the future, and then it would be pretty nice to know approximately how much I need to save up for buying such armor. Is it correct that it very well may be in the $1000 range? Or possibly more? Sincerely, Carsten Hedegaard
