  1. Here's the helmet I got from Peter G. I had to remove the custom red stripes down the front so I scraped them off and sanded the front feathering the weathering out the side so I could reweather the front and have it blend in with the great job he did on the rest.I replaced the dark lenses with the green mirrored too.
  2. Here's the link to the finished pouch...http://www.etsy.com/listing/54727382/trooper-costume-leather-pouch-4 The closure strap is left long to be trimmed to your personal liking. And the pics
  3. I have a "cheesegrater" but being from an AM kit, which comes with TS plates, standard and cheesegraters, all of the handplates are very large compared to other kits so a comparison is hard there. He is making my pouch right now so I will have them all soon to see.
  4. Thanks for the photo, see the side seems to taper in. I have alot of leather ammo pouches for my tusken and Jawa stuff and most taper in as if to fit pointed bullets better so I applied that thought to the pouch. Anyway I paid for the development of the first pouch and now this one so I am staying with this design for my pouch. By no means do I hold any dominion over this pouch and any and all are free to take my findings and contact him to alter them any way you see fit to get a pouch to your liking. I was just trying to help get a source for the pouch out in the open and since JMleather is a friend of mine sending all the work I could his way was a given. I hope you guys will buy a pouch from him and help him out. The reference for the pouch is so limited that making a solid be-all-end-all decision on the details is hard. Thanks for all the comments and help. Woody
  5. I'm not using this one single pic I am using my frame by frame function on the DVD player and the canvas belt is 3 1/2" wide and we know this and the pouch clearly is wider than the belt so 4 1/8" seems right to me. and as for the tapered side of the pouch sure you cant see it in the pic so go watch the roadblock scene and slow-mo the scene. I see it tapering. The strap was too short before now it's too long, I am leaving it and you can trim it to the length you see fit. Remember I am not making these myself just working on the design then handing it off to the maker. I would suggest if it looks off to anyone use the info and make a paper mock-up then hold it to your waist and belt. Being made from paper it is just straight and has no character but transposed in leather it will have the bends and look of the real pouch. Woody
  6. After watching and watching and more watching and then rewatching the roadblock scene here is the mock-up of the box pouch I have come up with. width 6 1/2" height 4 1/8" depth at top 2" depth at bottom 1 1/2" lid 1" closure strap 6 3/8" and only slightly tapered with rounded corners belt loops will fit a 3 3/4" belt and are 1 1/4" wide black rivet Let me know your feelings and comments on the mock-up
  7. Thanks alot Roger, now with the gun painted I am looking for the reference to do the proper weathering.
  8. Oh and thanks alot for the compliment. now I REALLY want the T-21!
  9. got any idea how I can cover up the burnt in "B" on the receiver?
  10. It didnt come with any paint on it. It was a "B" grade so I guess he didnt do it. I did all the paint and weathering myself. I used Rub-N-Buff on the whole thing. You get the Rub-N-Buff on a brush and then brush most of it off on a rag then lightly go over the high spots. I know he sends out the full price ones fully painted but I guess the discounted ones are left raw. It has a few soft places where you can squeeze it and they heat stamped a "B" on the top of the receiver.
  11. I am loving this thing, super light and the detail is shapr as a razor. I did a pass with Rub-N-Buf and then I have toned it down with a blackwash. I painted the stock a ruddy brown and then stippled black over that but I think it could use a bit more black. I also used some satin clear over the stock.
  12. Here's the info... 6 1/2" wide 4 1/2" tall 2" deep black rivet leave the closure strap 2" longer past the bottom and just round the corners, no point make sure the belt loops will fit a 3 1/2" belt and they should stick up past the top of the pouch 3/4" the lid is 1" wide I would like someone to confere with me on these changes
  13. I judged the width not from that pic but from watching the scene in slow-mo and there are only a feww spots where the side is visible and if the belt is 3 1/2" wide then 3" seemed a good number. I did the drawing showing the belt loops as poking up from behind the back but he didnt do them that way. What those things are on the real thing is very hard to tell but they are probably straps. I sent him an email with the changes but as for the rivet I dont think it's too big. I told him the straps needed to stick up from the back and changed the width from 3" to 2"
  14. I sent him all the pics to go by and commisioned him to make them.
  15. so you gonna get one? I sprung for 2 small ones a large "spanish" 1- 3 pocket shoulder,2- 3 pocket hip and the 4 pocket shoulder and the roadblock box pouch. I'm a madman!
  16. I set out to have JMLeather recreate all the pouches for me and the unknown box shaped one is done. I used the width of the belt and the pitcher lid to judge the size of it. It may not be the real thing, which remains unknown, but I think he has done a great job. I still dont have any of the pouches he's done for me in hand yet as he's still doing the rest but I should have them next week maybe. Here are some pics to look at. The real pouch Here's the reproduction Here's the site link http://www.etsy.com/listing/54727382/trooper-costume-leather-pouch-4
