Thanks for your comments Sith Necromancer,
You'll be pleased to hear I have just finished the rest of the armour.
The helmet was just the start, the armour - well what can i say
If someone say's please I may post some new pictures of the armour
for you guy's. - watch this space !

I started first with the scratches and damage with a fine brush and used a grey Humbrol Enamel model paint and gave it about 48hrs to dry.
I then applied Plasti-Kote Enamel Flat Black paint which was thinned out
with thinner, i applied it all over the helmet using a small sponge, i then gave it about an hour to dry, then i used a clean small sponge lightly dipped in thinner and gently wiped off the black to give the finished effect.
Its great because it takes a lot of tear and wear before it rubs off, but you
can remove the black at any anytime with paint thinner.

Some of you guy's might have seen my recent complete backpack,
after finishing that i started on my GF helmet.
I am really pleased with the finished helmet and have got the exact
look i was after, very dirty and damaged.
Now i know most prefer a cleaner look but i hope you like the
finished helmet.
Merry Christmas guy's
Ian.

1st The frame
I used a British army issue rucksack frame which fits perfect on your back
and wont scratch your armour, it came in green and had to be sprayed black.
2nd The Boxes !
Well, a little secret, there actually Cat litter trays
i used a total of 4 and bolted them together with the bottom trays (light grey) bolted to the frame.
The rest of the boxes are every day plastic containers, but i did hunt
around to find the right sizes i needed.
The fluid canister i can supply if needed
The radio box is just a plastic container, i drilled sixteen holes and
fitted M5 bolts to create the large circle, the various rings are from
army gas masks parts which i have access too.
So far this project has cost me about £50 ($87) + paints.
If you have trouble finding the right parts just PM me, most of the parts
are very cheap but the cost would be in the shipping.
