  1. George coined 'Jedi' by twisting the Japanese term for period dramas, 'Jidai' which literally does mean 'period' or era dramas. They were usually samurai tv shows from the 50s and 60s not unlike U.S. westerns. Not a hard leap then from a sword swinging ronin with a warrior code, to a lightsaber bearing 'jedi' following the 'force'.

Can't believe these guys thought they could piggyback on George's success without paying the legal price. The only thing they should've copied was his idea of coining their own term by corrupting another.

  2. I'm glad its working out for the better Rolf. Any hurdles you run into can be overcome as long as you stay strong for your son which you've proven time and time again. Just remember too that Sylvester has a whole detachment of sandy godfathers (and some godmothers) with his best interests at heart. Hang in there bro,

  3. I know not everyone is a fan of velcro but that's what connects my bells to my shoulder straps going on 5 years without a hitch. Basically all I did was cut to shape some fuzzy-sided to fit under my shoulder straps. I then cut some of the hook-sided and attached it to the nylon strap running from each bell. Each strap simply just attaches under the shoulder strap with the fuzzy with enough room for adjustments. To attach my shoulder pouch, I fashioned a loop out of some leather scrap I had lying around and attached it the back of the pouch with snaps. The loop goes around my left shoulder bell strap to which I E6000'd a 2" black hips shim to keep the weight of the pouch from kinking it.

  4. I trimmed some egg crate foam to line my lid primarily in the crown area and sides. Not the best choice because it does get warm. Those are velcroed in just in case I decide to upgrade and like TD-1535, I got (duct) tape in some places but mostly to hold wires in place. Lenses and frown are hot glued in. Some day I'd like to do a proper pimp-out but so far works just fine.

  5. Life is strange Rolf and I'm really sorry to hear what's happened to your young family. For some people parenthood is the most daunting task they'll ever face and only realize too late that they're not cut out for it. The one who suffers of course is the child especially if that parent leaves. And yes, bonding with your son is more important than ever now; we're all MEPD bros here but in my world, armor and legion activities take a backseat to engaging with my kids. It could be something as simple as a game of catch, building kits together, or going camping. The dividends far outweigh any investment in time to my own pursuits and your life is actually enriched by their presence. Providing them a happy childhood as a loving parent is the most important thing in the world to me now and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you're ever in the Seattle area, just LMK. Maybe you could hook up with me and Daetrin.

    Cheers. :)
