  1. Well, how commited are you to being that dirty? Dirty is good, and no matter what, it's your gear to do with whatever you wish, but you might consider cleaning about 75% of it off, but leaving it in the cracks and crevasses. One way to look at it is the sandtrooper has far more important things to use water on than cleaning his gear, but even he'll do a quick, "Oh crap, here comes Vader!" type wip down. The main surfaces will be fairly clean, but the recessed areas will still have a nice amount of dirt in them. Of course, this is just my honest opinion, and in the long run, it means squat! The main thing is if you're happy with it, then it's good!
  2. Don't forget the dirt. most important mod that shows the true commitment!
  3. Actually, I wouldn't add more, I'd try to take a bit off of everything else. Remember, we're Sandtroopers, not Sewertroopers! Not saying that the rest of your suit looks like a sewer...I've just seen a lot of people go a little overboard with the weathering, that's all. The trick is try and make it look like the armor got that dirty by using it in harsh enviroments. The cracks and crevasses are the main areas to concentrate on. I actually used a 3M™ Scotchbrite pad on my armor after painting it to remove most of the paint, as well as the glossy sheen. It now looks good and dull, but used!
  4. Wow....That's certainly dirty, alright..... How permenant is that?
  5. Exactly how much for just a knee plate? The standard handguards are still canon for sandtroopers so I won't be needing any of those.
  6. Are these going to be shipped *directly* to the purchasers this time?
  7. Yeah Matt, I did yours a while ago and sent them to Joshua. I also got Sarge's done the same time, so they're in joshua's hands now. The turn around for my getting them ready for post is usually only a few days after I recieve them.
  8. Exactly! Just like this: http://www.sandtrooper.net/modules.php?set...=view_photo.php Welcome aboard!

    Hello

    1. The major response we get is positive. Every once in a while you get one or two jock idiots who feel the need to elevate their own low self esteem by yelling out something insulting, or in even rarer cases, they'll try to take a swing at you. Usually this fails miserably, because a good percentage of us are either ex military or police. (This is just my own personal experience, of course) 2. Yes, it's possible if you make all the accesory items (backpack, bfg, ab plate/knee plate mods) yourself. 3. Since you won't be a member of the 501st by C3, you can pretty much wear whatever pauldron you want, but if you want to impress us (ie: the MEPD) you'd better be good and dirty!
  10. Sounds good to me! From now on October 7th is "Sandtrooper Day"! All in favor?

Thanks for the tips, guys! I'm going to try and do these mods before C3 for certain, now!

How about a parts list with links to get all those parts, eh? My sound gear crapped out on me a while ago, and I want to redo it all before C3!

    Hello

I hate to say it, but since you wouldn't be able to join the 501st, due to your status as a minor, you couldn't join the MEPD yet. Unfortunately, these are the rules we all have to live by, but don't let it stop you from becoming the best sandtrooper you can be! As for where to find the armor, there are two answers to this. 1. Think of it as your "Holy Grail". If you find it, and get it, then you truely want to become a member of the Legion. It shows a good amount of dedication. 2. Contact your local garrison, and see if they can help you.
  14. Great job, Joshua! Thanks a lot! If you're ready, and need to be deployed, get me those photos!

Feh! That guy got jumped by a drug smuggler and a farmboy! Not something I'd be too proud of!
  16. Well, the higher resolution the better, that way i have nice big image to work with before I shrink it down to the standard size. The higher rez, the better the results. Larger than 640x480 is great, especially with a higher pixel per inch count. I can make almost anything work though, so send me what you've got and we'll decide the next step from there!
  17. Well, shoot. You get the armor and your in, brother! And yes, thanks for your service! Kevin O'Connor, USN 89-93
  18. Here's the list of "Deployed" troopers who have sent me their photos. Their pictures are now finished and will soon to be added to the MEPD.net website: TD-0142 TD-1149 TD-1536 TD-5374 TD-6990 TD-7722 If anyone else thinks they are ready for Deployment, you need to send me your photos.
  19. Actually, didn't Dean already make some of those a while back? I don't see them on his site anymore, but I thought he did. Remember to stop by the database and fill in your info if you'r going to be at C3!
  20. This is just for the MEPD Troopers. Not to be confused with the 501st Volunteers group. This database is so I know how many of us will be going, and who would like to be included in any Sandtrooper exclusive stuff (Special "Tatooine" related duties, etc). If you're already a volunteer for C3 through the Garrison, any hours you pull doing these gigs will also count as regular volunteer time. You do not have to be part of the 501st Volunteer group to take part in our stuff though. Any and all MEPD Sandtroopers are invited!
  21. As you all know, Star Wars Celebration III plans are in full swing on the Legion level, and there could be some good jobs for us, the Mos Eisley Police Department. If you are planning on attending SWC3, and would like to do some or all of these specialized "Sandtrooper Gigs", please go to the "MEPD Star Wars Celebration III Roster" database at our yahoogroup and fill out the info there. I am collecting this data to pass on to our illustrious LCO, Tim, so he knows how many of us canon sandtroopers he has to play with. Tim would like to see/bring more "theater" to C3 than we had at C2, and so would I! This means really getting into character to entertain the fans while they wait in the numerous lines and everything else. I played it to the hilt when I worked the guard duty at the front gates at C2 (Barking orders at the crowds and getting them in nice, orderly lines, etc), and the fans loved it, and I had a blast doing it! More details will follow once we know who's going, and who wants to take part in some "MEPD Exclusive" jobs at C3. Click HERE to sign up If one of the moderators could raise this to "announcement" level, it'd be much appreciated.
  22. Welcome aboard trooper! feel free to look around and ask anything you need to help you achieve your goal to become one of the "dedicated" troopers of the Legion!
  23. We ol' timers call those "Armor Bites"

    Quiet

Playing Battlefront, and watching the DVS. ***** of it is, the Sandies in Battlefront use the most worthless rocket launchers! | The standard trooper has the best weapon....Plus, if he's on Tatooine, he's dirty, regardless! That was the one really cool thing about the game, is that depending on the enviroment, the way the troopers look is affected. On Hoth, Bikers, Sandies, and standards are all snowtroopers, and on Tatooine, they all get dirty! Overall, it's an awesome game, despite some lame, non canon weapons.
