  2. Hey Rick my plate reads NTAHMR What rivalry, my buddy has a Hummer and I went and got the plate and parked right next to him.
  3. Voted for you. Anything to help out a fellow Jeep owner. I love my 4 door Wrangler. Great for trooping, I can throw my box in the back and have plenty of room left. AWESOME pictures man!!
  4. Here are a couple more from the same site. Neat stuff..........well I think anyway. Carrie Fisher Mark Hamill
  5. Here is a nice little video with some behind the scenes info. Kurtz seems to be surprised by the popularity of the movie at the end of the interview.... Here is the Link I enjoy this kind of stuff. I'm in the process of reading the Making of Star Wars book. This ties in nicely. “Will this be the beginning of a new trend of movies?,” Carolyn Jackson asks Star Wars producer, Gary Kurtz. The two discuss several aspects of the upcoming film’s production, including reasons for filming in Africa, and why the film is considered low-budget, despite the 9.5 million dollar price tag. Kurtz also discusses technical details, special effects, and his philosophy of what makes a good sequel (info taken from the site about the interview)
  6. So, what maker is your radio? I am. It's made out of card board, and plastic signs. I used pill bottle caps for the dials and 5hr energy for the small ones. Small nails drilled and nailed for the ends of the plastic. The end of a soda can for the inside dial. I'll try to take some finished pictures soon. Glad you like it. I added more details on the finished piece. It's my first attempt, the dimensions might be off a little. I'll get it right the next time.
  7. Took some time to finally get some pictures taken to submit for approval of the TD. I think I have it pretty close. I went with the Catina Sergent Pack #5. I saw that the shoulder pouch was not needed so I removed it. What do you think, before I send in for approval? Thanks to everyone here for all the help and inspiration to get this TD added to the ranks soon. I'll try to take some individual pictures of the armor pieces if you all are interested.
  8. O (Old Fogies always pushing the Young-Uns around.)
  9. That would be great. You let me know well in advance and I'll see what I can do. Oh and to stay on topic............TK boots ROCK!
  10. Thanks for the link to the RPF discussion. fantastic read and info.
  11. I have a orange and a white from these guys. Panda is right, just a little tight on the neck. I think they look alright and get the job done for the price. My 2 cents.
  12. I wear a 9.5 and I bought a 10. They fit fine, I was able to put my nice insoles in them and it helped a lot for those long standing time. (I've worn them for about 4 hrs. and no fatigue) I do need to break them in just a little more for the walking parts.
  13. You bet, I'll post more as soon as I can get them together. After all of the extra work to get it to fit together I think it turn out pretty good. Ground Pounder we could be twins....LOL! Is all your armor TE2? My helmet is a AP and the body is VT. More soon. Looking forward to joining the ranks of the MEPD and getting deployed.
  14. Okay, Well I started this as a build thread then I just got into it and didn't take the time to take pictures. Really it was a basic build however there was a lot and I mean a lot of messaging done to make this armor fit. I will do my best to get some close up shots of the finished armor soon. I need to get my pictures into the 501st for approval and then I would like to get the blessings here. I was very happy to get this together and just in time to help my garrison out with the kick off for the Salvation Army Bell ringing. Not the greatest pictures but you can get a basic idea of the over all look. Still need to do some tweaking on my pouches to get them to hang right on my belt (no biggie). It was very cold and I did learn a lesson. Just when you think you might have enough under armor on.....add a layer!
  15. Okay Troops more questions. I put my version together but I need advice on what type of filter to use. Is it a Tractor filter cartridge or a Truck Filter with the outer metal skin removed. How about a vacuum filter canister? I made one by using tubing and a plastic canister. Looks okay for now but I want to get it right. Any ideas... it's really hard to tell from the screen grabs I've seen. Anyone?
  16. I have to ask what is the opinion on the Cheese Graters. Which trooper wore them and if they did is it on both hands. I've seen different versions of the grates also. Some with spikes and some with oblong indention. I just finished up my TD and I went with the Sergent Cantina Pack #5, I have other options and was just wandering where the grater fit in. Thanks for the info in advance. I'll be posting pics soon of the finished armor.
  17. When you get a chance post more pictures of the armor. can't wait to see how it works out for you.
  18. Looks Fantastic. Thanks for another idea for a winter project.
  19. I stared out with a cheap wally world voice changer. Then I tried a gas mask mic I had heard about. I now have a Rom/FX as you may have seen here. I rank it like this: Good Better The BEST! You will not go wrong with the Rom/FX, it completes your hard work and makes it a enjoyable piece of armor.
  20. Yes I've seen those and they have the right flower design, they just happen to be too small. The head size is not the same. The ones I found have the right head size, but I do agree they are just not 100%. I think I'll keep looking..........
  21. This is all I could find. Not perfect but darn close. (You could always paint them ) If I get enough interest I will see what I can come up with. I just don't know if the demand will offset the cost. Also I'm not really sure how many suits used these. I think they might have been what was laying around to get the job done on this suit we have pictures of. I don't mind hunting......that is one of the fun parts of this hobby.
  22. Here I go. I've had this armor for awhile, it's been setting in the brown box. First let me say this is VT armor ABS. I got it as a half put together kit (easy parts were done). The price was right and I was looking for a ABS set to go TD. There was no helmet with it so I bought a AP. I might go with one of my TE2s I have, I'll wait and see when it is together. I can tell you that the only other kit I have put together was my TX (modified FX) So with that I start my build. As you will see there is some trimming involved. This is good and bad. I gives me plenty to work with but also because of the way the molding process the flash is out. Which is great for de-molding but when the pieces need to be butt fitted they bend away from each other. So I had to work around that. Made a template for marking and cutting the pieces. This will leave enough for the added ANH strips. This is what was cut off. I will use it on the inside to glue to and butt the pieces together. Getting ready to trim the back. Plenty of overlap...and trimming. Trimming As you can see gaps. Well I'll add more as the e6000 sets up. Also you might recognize my reference pictures. It is great to have access to the BEST!
  23. Okay I was reading on here and i saw the same thing over on the FISD. Flower rivets. I did some hunting and founds these, what do you all think. Would anyone really want these?
  24. Your right that explains what I was noticing in some of the pictures I've seen. I will probably do as you did and make it all there. People will not understand or really know if things are missing. I have gotten most of the parts I need for the build. I guess I'll have to get a white or black pauldron to go with it. I was going to do the "Move Along", so I bought a orange one, but can you ever have too many pauldrons?
