  1. I am looking to contact somebody who can create the left and right armor side gaps for my sandy ab-plate.

Here's the criteria laid out by the folks at MEPD as to what they're looking for in terms of accuracy.

    • Armor side gaps should be closed or nearly closed; no more than 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) gap on either side. This should be done by adding a shim or shims of material that must be of similar material and color as the ab and back plate. Shims should fit flush and may have seams. Ideally they will be seamless if possible to the ab and/or back plate, resulting in a single seam between the ab/back rather than extra seams for where the shims are joined.
    • Rivets on the left side of the ab/kidney plates: a total of six rivets with three on the ab and three on the kidney plate, equally spaced out along the depth of the armour and about 10mm from the edge. They may be painted white, or not.
    • One snap on the top right hand side oft he ab plate: back of male side of snap should show on outside of ab plate.
Maybe it would be easier for me to purchase a new ab plate with the side gaps already attached.

I'm working toward trying to pass "muster" for SWAT so I will need extreme attention to screen accuracy.

Some direction from you guys would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

  2. You got to lose that that e-11 holster and is your helmet a FX helmet? That might be a problem...

Hey dude.. looks like your helmet is FX.. They wouldn't let me in with an FX helmet when I tried back in March.. so I had to get an AP helmet... then I got deployed in early July... Read the "requirements" and you'll see everything that's approved and not acceptable.

As Han Solo said in Return of the Jedi before leaving for Endor, "good luck; you're gonna need it."

  3. Pictures updated, whats the next step for deployment, is there anything else needed?

    Whitesand,

Please let me know how you got your pictures to appear. I put mine up 3 days ago and nobody has responded yet. I think it might have something to do with the fact that my pics don't appear as prominantly as yours.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

I made several upgrades over the last four months. I purchased an AP helmet, a BFG Lewis Gun, Canvas shoulder and belt straps, screen-accurate hovi mic tips, and created a more screen-accurate backpack. I hope I'm accurate enough to pass muster.

  5. Okay, I emailed Dave - the guy who runs "trooperdecals.com" - my 501st ID number. He accepted the email and I then sent him a PayPal. Dave still insists that there's a box on his PayPal page where you can write in your trooper ID, however this box doesn't exist.

So, if you plan to order decals from this guy, email him your 501st ID number BEFORE you send him your PayPal payment.

He needs to re-format his PayPal page if he wants troopers to post their 501st IDs.

    Problem solved.

  6. do you need FX sized decals or accurate sized decals?

I need decals for an AP helmet, not the FX style helmet, He has exactly what I need. I just need to know exactly how to go about getting it.

A few weeks ago he posted no more international orders. Then a week ago he changed his tune asking for 501st IDs when ordering.

There's just no place to plug in the 501st ID on the final PayPal page during checkout.

I've emailed this guy directly at his PayPal address twice but neither time has he responded to me.

I'd rather have these decals than paint my helmet.
