  1. I'm well in the weathering of me armor- I plan on getting a new camera this week and pics will be on my website- but I seem to have hot a wall on it. Besides having a lot of little things that I can not seem to get organized, I am having real problems getting the wearthering looking at all right. I am following the methods listed in other posts, but my doubt is becoming overbearing. Is this a normal thing to have happen?
  2. I'm going to be wearing my rig for a full troop for the first time in 2 weeks or so. I've thought about a waist belt on the pack, but am going to give it a try without for this troop. I'm thinking it would be relativly easy to slip a belt under the ab plate and connect it in place. We'll see. Right now my pack has thin straps with a chest connection.
  3. I've tried glue, rivets, and screws, but I re did the whole she'bang with nuts and bolts. I used everything from 1/2 inch to 4 inch bolts.
  4. pnerves.com I am keeping a 'photo diary' of my armor build. Unfortunatly my camera just died- which really sucked as it had 15 pictures of Devo records for my music section- so no real new developments. I hope to have a new camera in March. The armor build page is here- http://pnerves.com/buildingarmor.htm

    help!

I'm in the same boat here- can't go without glasses, because I can't see 2 feet in front of me- can't wear contacts unless they are hard and football shaped. I am going to get a pair of sports glasses that are rubber and instead of temple pieces have head loops like swim goggles. I did try to account for my specs while building my bucket and still could not get it to work.
  6. Heh... this is the curse of being a hobbit and nothing is going to help.
  7. I really want to get a more accurate helmet- just need to save for one. Besides where would a guy got the info on one? (hint hint)
  8. Heh... actually you aren't- I don't have much of a neck. I'll give the chin stap a try, and also a different inner- the hard had liner is not working all that well for other reasons.
  9. The problem is not the liner, it's how low the helmet fits. Whithout the pauldron, the helmet works ok, but the pauldron seems to push it up too high.
  10. So, I just tried on everything above the waist, and have a 'slight' problem. With the pack, armor and Pauldron, my helmet sits so my eye level is at the frown. It's all FX and I know I need to get a better helmet ASAP, but since that's not going to happen before the time I wanted to debut this armor, any one have any suggestions?
  11. I have my TIE squad patches on my flight suit- in places that get covered by my armor, but all my other patches are in an envelope right now. I plan on getting a jacket, but don't think I'll put any on my TD because of canon issues.
  12. That is totally understandable. I have boxes of SW toys in the garage for the same reason... Good luck on the whole dark lord thing, and at least lurk here.
  13. I have a Manx body sitting in a friend's backyard. I have NO idea when I'll be able to get the donor bug and get it together, but it was a steal. and I couldn't resist... so I didn't.
  14. Wait'll you see this baby next summer... Heh heh heh...
  15. I can give you a heya and welcome to the 501st, and I'll say I'll be joining you at the MEPD soon.
  16. I know this is all part of the process, and I already have fixes in mind, but I have to say, the problems really knocked me down several pegs. Thanks for the pep talk, troops!
  17. I did my first test fit this weekend and it ended in tears. I had a few essential rivets give out, some glued stuff pop, and some major soft connection issues. Not a good armor day, so I had to share it with you. Sorry.
  18. Ahhh... right as you face it, but on the wearer's left. A horrible rendering by yours truly...
  19. I remember seeing a close up of an ab plate that had on the left long strip (is there a technical term?) a piece that had 3 round pieces- like buttons, but not quite- and a cut out at where the 4th button would be. That make any kind of sense? I made on, but have not photographed it or attached it. I was hoping to get some confirmation before glue hits plastic. Cheers.
