how he made his one
http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=3853&hl=
And I think these are his rough dimensions (but you may need to confirm)
Hope this helps

Hey Marcel !!
Great to see you over here with all our sandie brothers , welcome aboard
I didn't know you ordered the SDS as a sandie mate? Brilliant
If you didn't then you'll have to make a few changes to it, like the abb plates, a new diamond
knee plate to replace the TK one, junk the ribbed shoulder straps, repaint the traps on your helmet
(or get some decals ) and offcourse, you won't need that holster that you've been talking about mate .
All the info you need to become one of Mos Eisley's finest is right here
Should look good mate, can't wait to see it when its all done and dusted up

Gentlemen
My TD-252 Pauldron arrived today and I must say that after all the hype and the build up for this
particular product I feel that I must mention a few things to be aware of.
The main points that I think need to be raised are the research and design, materials used, and the
manufacture and construction of this item. All, alas to say, are very disappointing
Disappointing?, I hear you say....I'm afraid so.
Disappointing......for anyone who DIDN'T GET ONE!!!!
These Pauldrons are a thing of beauty and I feel honored to be lucky enough to now own one.
Rolf, Thank you Sir for this unbelievable creation.I will wear it with pride
-
Yerrp, these Pauldrons are COOLER than Henry Winkler eating an ice cream in a snow storm
-
Unbelievable creations,....from an unbelievable guy

Now I found definate proof of the use of german weapons, modified or not for the complete SW saga.
Everybody knows these baby's..
Here you can see the original...
Hey Dutchy
I think you'll find they also used a few designs from the allied forces as well,
Check out this US Navy prototype being tested on the USS Long Island in 1942
.....look familiar to anyone?
