Nice price, for some sweet pouches B)

  3. Please, please, tell me how you managed to secure your rubber brow piece on to the bucket itself?

It appears that you removed the ears and replaced them with "formed" ear pieces?

    Thanks bro!

    T :salute:

    Tony

Its called 'trompe l'oeil' or for all us non French speakers out there '....to deceive the eye' .

If I remember rightly they're painted or pencil marked lines where the ears meet the helmet

    cool or what? B)

    Scott

I loved this fantastic helmet the first time you showed it, and I think I love it even more

now that I've seen it again. :)

It's a beautiful piece and you are one lucky sod for having it in your great collection :D

    Thanks for showing it again

  4. The ALICE packs are based on the lightweight tropical rucksack there were issued durng the Vietnam war, so maybe that is what you should be looking for?

    Paul,

I don't think they would have used the Vietnam lightweight rucksack, too much work to get it to look like

    the ones on screen :(

The scout pack looks the nearest out of all the vitage ones that I've looked at.

Most of the Hiking, camping, climbing, skiing, and military ones with an external

frame just don't seem to have the same characteristics. :(

We'll just have to keep looking :)

  5. Ray

You are more than welcome mate. Glad you and the little man liked it :duim:

We have to look after the next generation of troopers like little Merlin and Sylvester 'coz these

will be the guys who will hopefully carry on our legacy.

Band of Brothers, mate , no compromise, no exceptions :)

Loving his new threds, he's going to be one COOL little dude :D

  6. OK, here's another little trick :)

After studying the pictures of the original syphon and then looking at the Partridges

it kept on bugging me about the taper at the bottom of the upright tube where it meets

the dome of the round canister. So I thought I'd have a play around with it ;)

    Posted Image

Here you can see the difference compared to the UK syphon that we normally use

    with the burger stackers.

So, after spotting this in the supermarket I just had to see if I could get it to work :D

    Cut down and sanded

    And finally held in postion

:D We must be the only people in the World who study a toilet syphon in this

    much detail :D

    What are we Like.......

  7. Thanks Rocko. I was feeling toasty from the flames... I am an individual, with 50% objective interpretation by Daetrin, and no other. As you can see, the gang has jumped me.

Perhaps Mike can start a new thread and say he is making replicas of my prototypes that he had for a brief period, and which I have re-claimed, and I start a new thread on the Value Radio Kit I will offer soon.

    Sound fair?

I would like to hear from Rolf on this. He is an objective guy... I know it puts him in a spot, but he needs to review all of this.

    Regards Rocko,

    John

    John

Rolf's wife Sara is expecting the birth of their little boy virtually any minute now

so it may be some time before he's back on the boards mate.

Just thought I'd let you know :)

  8. Shucks, I'm getting all embarrassed now

    Thanks guys :duim:

The good thing about this little trick is that you're not limited to just using it on the Partridge round syphon.

You can use it with a normall syphon and instead of hunting down the burger stackers you only have to find

a nice round container roughly the same size and just add the lid rims and bobs ya uncle, fanny's ya aunt

    jobs done. :)

For all the guys in the UK, the Marks & Spencers Flap jacks, Mini-rolls containers are purfect for this

and it gives you a brilliant excuse for eating the yummy contents :D

  9. I think most people have seen madphisto.net 's post showing the Partridges round syphon,

    if not here it is;-

Syphon again, forget about Hamburger Stackers

Well, I thought I'd have a little play with it whilst getting it ready for my backpack and see

if I could add that 'Burger Stacker' look to it. :)

After having a good ol' ponder over how I would do it, I finally came up with a really easy and simple

neat little trick for it. B)

So, see what you think, even if you don't use it I hope it gives yous a few ideas of possible other

ways to go with it :)

    Posted Image

I basically got hold of some lids from some sweet / cake containers (candy in the US :D )

and trimmed the lip off of them.

    Posted Image

Then all you need to do is just stick them on :)

(I've used Blu-tack to mock them up in the photos)

And that's it, nice and simple, but does the trick :D

  10. Rolf

No matter what you do this is going to be another awsome pack build, yours always

    bloody are :D

My personal opinon is that they painted or sprayed the radios black. I know that we

haven't got 100% clear photos to work off but most of the ones we have got seem

to indicate that the face plate seemed to be all one colour.I think that some of the all

black tuner dails seems to back this up as well.

I know the packs were very slap-dash and seemed to be thown together but I don't

think they would have left the radio as is so that everybody could see that it was a

cheap Japanese transistor radio when they were trying to portray technology from

a galaxy far, far away :D

Rolf, I don't envy you mate, Mike as made one the most amazing reproduction props

that I have ever seen B) , and I feel the same as you "How can I spoil something

that is just so perfect" :( . But, you may have to bite the bullet and weather this

magnificent piece in your pursuit of perfection and screen accuracy.

    It a toughy mate

  11. Careful lads he's Scottish <_<

and as well as being known for their Celtic fighting spirit , those guys think nothing

of going totally butt naked under their Pauldrons :D

    Rolf
