    yep,,agreed,,,,,,,,,blaster marks..?...HIGH GRADE artist charcoal ,ground up,,and feathered out..

    hint,,ground with your thumb and then fan out

    hmmmmmmm...........sounds like something interesting to experiment with on my extra FX lid ;)

    ABS Glue Help

    ...I used the toughest glue out there they use to connect pipes with a diameter up to 315mm and must withstand a pressure of 8 bar/ atm or more...which means that my armor is glued solid..

    WOW! 8bar per atmoshpere! That's some tough glue! Glad I don't have that on my armor.

    As it turns out my TM armor was made by the man himself so I will hopefully be cutting through that E6000 soon as I get a schedule break.

    So I semi-recently bought a complete set of TM armor but unfortunately the thighs are just a bit too small. Does anyone know how, or if you can, seperate the glue from the strip on the back of the thigh so I can let it out a little. I don't need much more room, just a little, which is the frustrating part.

    Is there a solvent that can be used or could I possibly lightly heat around the glue to get it tacky and maybe slice it to let it out? I'd hate to warp the thigh with too much heat.

    Any suggestions or experience is appreciated!

    Found the video..not my work at all. perhaps done by a member of MEPD? Praxzel???

    Perhaps at 8:53 it says "Created by TD-5766 Todd Lacey" is a clue.

    Well you can certainly tell who watched the video all the way through and who cut out for a beer at, ohhh, 8:50 or so.

    Yeah, I'm a sucker for watching the credits hoping for that little easter egg suprise at the end.

    Idea for Field Backpack

    I've been working on adding police "chatter" to my radio box. I added the speaker when I built the pack and ran a wire up to my stow-n-go. I added a radio shack amp there along with a small MP3 player. Now I just have to finish working up the sounds. I'm planning on putting it on random with dispatch communications, some probe droid transmission noises, some static, some SW button hits and several long tracks of silence. We'll see how it works out.

    I also wired the radio box speaker to one of the switches that came with Mike and Seth's kit so someone behind me can kill the sound if need be.

    There was some great background type stuff in the IMPS mini-movie if I remember right.

    Great idea by the way.

    Not to get off topic but all this talk about buying gold got me wondering......can actually buy physical gold anymore? I mean other than prospecting in streams where would you go to buy lump amounts of gold? I live in WI so it's not exactly the center of the universe so I wouldn't know where to pick some up. It would be pretty cool to have a secret stash of gold though

    It seems to make a difference that the US consumes like 1/3 of the world oil production and only makes up like roughly 5% of the world population. For years we have been at the top of the world food chain but now with the increases in industrialization of China and India, the demand for oil has increased. Also, basically for the first time in the existence of both of those countries they are now seeing a middle class. That means more consumers with more income to buy cars with.

    I hate to say it but when oil starts to become REALLY hard to find you will start to see wars breaking out. It's a crappy thing to say but we are so dependent on oil when we get to a point that we don't have any at all, people aren't going to care where it came from or how we got it as long as we have it. The guy with the biggest club will win. Start throwing in the prospect of going to war with China, or nuclear missles from USSR, or dirty bombs from one of the dozens of countries that already hate the US and it's pretty grim looking.

    Ooops. Sorry. I didn't mean to infer that this was actually happening. It just seems to me to be an obvious choice for the hyper-firm treatment.

    Oddly enough, we are currently searching for an original Simrad right now

    Anyone have a lead?

    Lordsandy had a set of nice ones on rpf but I think he wanted 2k for it, if that helps any.
