  1. UNREAL!!! You are one **** of a father my friend, you wanna be mine? Seriously though, Wicked awesome work now you gotta get em' a little pauldron and some mini pouches then get a big dog dressed up as a dewback and have him ride around the neighborhood. I salute you brother
  2. Figured I post a few pics of my pack progress to get some pointers, insults, encouragement. This is what I used for my main boxes Heres my top box 3/4 done and primed (the tool box is a old container that held my clippers it opens up for storage) This was the process I went thru to build my radio.I still have to prime and paint it and add a few little things like switches. It didnt come out as good as wanted but im gonna touch it up as best I can, plus it sorta adds to the weathering effect I think. Id heat up the area to bend with a heat gun and just go easy. This is it, the pack mocked up so I could get a good look at it. Still got a long way to go but its comin along. I hope that when its finished it'll be up to par, we shall see.
  3. Ohh boy do I remember the rat, what a crap hole. I dont know if you noticed my tat last time brian, I used to be edge lost it though . I started boozin when I got back from the desert. War will do some screwy things to ya, not that im blaming it though, but im rambling. Yeah I seen slapshot there, earth crisis all the crazy ones. Man we got some talkin to do next troop brother.
  4. Jello Biafra is a nut I have a few of his spoken word albums, smart as **** but a nut none the less. I never really got into the punk scene I was way more into metal and hardcore. I think seeing BOLD andSLAPSHOT were my highlights. I dont really have any Metal Highlights cause there all amazing bands like Maiden, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Morbid Angel all highlights and in farely small venues except maiden of course.
  5. So im a little large in some areas but all in all pretty dang close for my rookie @$$.
  6. 4 outta 4 sandys!! Great read, once I finish it ill be sure to let you know if I get some good ideas.
  7. Its funny I actually listen to records more than anything. I was actually jammin some Sabbath today.
  8. I feel your pain brother, Ive been struggling for a while now to find parts that would look even remotely close to accurate. For the main boxes I actually bought 4-16 oz sterilite containers. Theres a wierd line on them that I think is from manufacturing. I cut along the line and stuck the two pieces together and it makes a box with 4 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 14 dimensions. After looking at my own body size, ref pics, and various forums and sites I guessed those as the measurements. Its not exact but its the best I can do right now. I would take some pictures of it but I dont really want to embarass myself till its completly done. I at least want to wait till its finished to smash it in anger.
  9. Those are GREAT looking E-11's, im constantly blown away at the craftsmanship of the troopers on here. I love how you imprinted the cog in the pistol grip. im gonna be all over that naming contest.
  10. That thing looks GREAT. Im jealous my pack is takin way to long due to several problems, but im not gonna polute your thread with that. Keep it up the awesome work it gives us newbs somthin to shoot for.
  11. Bein new to trooping and armor in general I found that discussion to be sorta childish but none the less really informative. I have discussions/arguments like this all the time with guys over music and im sure ill have this one with someone eventually once ive been around long enuff. At the end of the day though as long as somebody or a group of people are making quality accurate armor im happy as a pig in crap. If it wasnt for these guys we all might be wearing cardboard boxes on our heads HAH.
  12. That came out awesome BIG T. I love the drying rig, I can only imagine what your wild rig looked like brian.
  13. You did one **** of a good job brother.
  14. Your doin some great work there brother. Hopefully when I scratch build one I can get it looking that good.
  15. You know I will, it would be stupid of me not to abosorb every bit of info I can from everyone. You know the saying "Theres no stupid questions only stupid answers".
  16. Im almost done mocking up my top box and I can see what you mean. I think im gonna stay away from the hinges, I liked the indus. velcro trick for the tool box. Decisions, Decisions.
  17. I appreciate it brother . Yeah ive read thru alot of the pack threads already, and youve covered pretty much everything, just figured id ask you know. I like how you hinged the main box im shootin to try to make my pack functional while keepin it as accurate as i can. Thanks again.
  18. That was wicked awesome, your a great pops for doin that for your kids. I got a little choked up when his dewback died . Hope to see a third someday.
  19. I spent about 2 1/2 hours walking thru a Home Depot, Target, Office Max and Stop & Shop(supermarket for those not from new england) and I had the hardest time finding anything worth using. Youd think they woulda had a better tupperware selection. I really dont wanna settle for parts that are not at all accurate, but I starting to believe im gonna have too. Before I go out and finish my pack supply list, could some of you vets help a boot out with some places to pick stuff up. I would rather use vaccuform parts but no machine. And since im so new to this I dont know anyone yet with a table. Once I get it mocked up ill post some pics to get some feedback. Thanks brothers and sisters.
