  1. 1. The block on the scope will be an option for those that want it . It was in some of the scopes in ANH ,but not all 2. The scope rail is solid and contains an armature . If not, it would flop around . Cutting this area out would compromise the structural integrity of the scope rail . 3. The front sites are not cut out, that is correct. This is not only for strength (like the rail) but also for ease in casting . Leaving them open would cause the mold to possibly tear or the sit itself . A torn sight means the whole blaster goes in the trash . One might be able to dremel them out, but I don't think it's worth the time and effort necessary to do it . 4. (Not numbered) the scope has inserts in place already . It's a little hard to pick up in the pics, but we have already added them for you . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thank you RoCKo While we no longer fly under the Sci-Fire name, our attention to detail still remains very important to us. The newer materials and techniques developed in the film prop industry over the past few years have vastly improved , so we can in turn improve our products. Don't misunderstand me, I myself am not in the Film industry. But, postmortem01 is. He is the one responsible for the majority of the improvements we have made.
  3. We've been hard at work getting this going. The site is under construction, but the blasters are now available I'm open to comments http://praetorianblasters.com/
  4. Just an FYI http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=129&t=87552
  5. You guys allowed me to stay on here even after the decision was handed down. I appreciate that. I kept fairly quiet during the last year My membership has been restored. so, I'm back .
  6. And with that announcement, my suggestion is withdrawn
  7. "Expensive" is a relative term. The rubber that I'm talking about is kind of like a Nerf ball It's not solid dense rubber.
  8. I mentioned the fact that you work at ILM because you are a professional and work in a professional environment. It wasn't a slight, it was an acknowledgment of your experience .I mistakenly assumed that you worked with real world products in the creature shop, but after rereading your profile i realized that you work within the CGI/simulated realm. My apologies for that. Please don't get me wrong. You are an amazingly talented artist, and I am not downplaying your skill and talent. Many people will agree with you and opt for a "found part" instead of a casting.I myself am a supporter of using found parts when possible and would not fault anyone for going that route.; I offered to modify these for accuracy and cast them in rubber. That saves work on the customer's end and allows them to troop without worry of damage to their found parts and pack.
  9. You work at ILM, certainly you must understand the costs involved with molding and casting . Quality materials and skilled labor do come at a premium. If the estimate is deemed unreasonable by the masses, then I will withdraw my offer and bid you all good day.
  10. whoever sends me one gets theirs free of course. But, for the masses... Depends on the amount of silicone it takes to mold it, then the materials,etc... A very rough estimate would be $80US But, I can't promise anything until I have one in hand.
  11. If you guys send me one, I can modify it for accuracy and cast it in Hyperfirm for you.
  12. The picture doesn't do the view justice I was surprised at high up we actually were You travel up the backside of the mountain and it opens up at the top
  13. But check out the back of my shirt.
  14. This arrived the other day. Yes, they make them in black.
  15. You may wonder what happened to "slave1pilot" or why Nate is not on this forum any longer. Let me explain , in case the worst case scenario actually pans out (if it doesn't I'll come back and delete this) . I'm not sure this post won't be deleted anyway. I hope that the leaders will allow it to stay. So here goes. I'm currently having a Disciplinary Hearing for Conduct Unbecoming a Trooper on the 501st Legion Forum. The harshest punishment available (if my Garrison votes for it) is a 2 year suspension. The vote ends July 15,2014 I'll be out of town on a business trip beginning tomorrow morning and will have very limited internet access when the votes are tallied. This may be my last chance to post before then. That suspension covers all facets of the 501st. Including forums that are related to it. This is one of them. I will still be on a few other boards and even facebook, so you can find me there. Or, you can email me at slave1pilot@live.com . please put "501st" in the comments so I don't delete you. What's the hearing all about? I really can't tell you here. 2 years is a very long time, so I may have moved on at that time. If I didn't, then you 'll see me again. I do thank you all for your friendships and allowing me to share my love of Star Wars Costuming with you. Respectfully, Nathan Mutter "TK-439" "slave1pilot"
  16. A quick google search resulted in the standard sites. It comes up as an item #1950, but I'm guessing it's been replaced with the newer versions. http://www.nationwide-products.com/winterizationmadeeasy/index.html#durablecover
  17. I'm out of town on vacation. Right now I'll look when I get home on Tuesday If I were to mold something, it wouldn't be the faucet cover . It would be the Gio Style canteen
  18. and this also came in the mail
  19. While I'm waiting around for the armor to arrive, I bought these:
  20. I just bought a used one on ebay for ten bucks. Sigh.
