Like mentioned, Over boiling the leather will end up making the leather briitle. What i use to restore ( over statment ) but what has worked wonders with either very old, ill treated/etc. leather products is Gun Oil, the one that has Teflon, even gives it a nice shine. ( leather will be come soft for some time) i tend to use q-tips and apply fast coats, the leather will soak upo the oil at different speeds on differnet areas, i apply small multiple quantaties layer. The leather will redistribute the gun oil over time ( days) so stuffing pouches, or having the buckles and lace conected so that the item maitains or keeps the right shape. One other secret is to place the oil and the leather product in the sun for 20-40 minutes, this wil help the oil penetrate the leather.
Once again use small amounts of oil and work up quantaties, and do this in 2-3 periods in a 24-48 hour period, it is possible to over oil and that will take a long time forr the exses to be removed.
Hope this helps, i was able to restore a old pocket knife sheath that was over 70 years old and looks great.

On my ANH tk i am going "Hero" bubbled for the Deployment FISD, and for cannon events i will use them, even thou i can see much out of them. but for non cannon i will use black lens.
But Defstartrooper summed it up.

I agree with KarmaTiger, it would be easier to paint one helmet then one armor. And i have also read the Rustoleum White is used. anyway we have to wait and see. Post again once the helmet get there!!

Well i think it is time to come out of the shadows and introduce my self. My name is Joey, and i am 98% done with my first TK-FX ANH armor, and saving up for my TE2 armor to go AHN and convert my FX to a TD, well thats the plan for the long run. I want to Thank All the people that helped me with the making of my E-11 100% scracth build with junk ,odds and ends. Not one part is resin all is made from what ever looked right or close enough. ( dont have a digital camera..... but will see what i can do) oh guess what , pvc tube 1 1/4 or 1 5/8 doesnt exist in my Counrty so i have a 1 inch blaster ( doesnt look bad) and i am working on a 2 inch one.
Any way Once again Hello and Thx for the help so far and the help to come.
