  1. Cheers SB! Here the link to the members' page of the Legion site in case anyone needs it: http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...D=2&userID=7856
  2. I cant help with the origin of the pouch but.. When I look at the norwegian pouch, it looks like its substantially shorter than those screen used. Those hip pouches(as pictured) look almost too long for mp40 mags to be removed from them. If these pouches were made by the props dept, perhaps they were made longer to fill in the armour gap of the upper thigh area?
  3. So I'm just exploring the site and I'm wondering, OK, within this detachment are there other groups. So I click on the ::Groups:: option to find there are no groups. Is this a feature yet to be utilised or a legacy from earlier times? Something else completely?
  4. Nice work Dave, just a matter of momemts before you're badged!
  5. I think we came across all of these scenarios whilst on duty during the local christmas parade Yet it was the 3 year olds asking about our accuracy, with the 30-somethings calling us darth vader In my last job, I had 'demotivation post cards' printed but was told to remove them because whilst humourous, they apparently encouraged errors. For example: "Customer Service is so much easier - without the customer" "Every cloud has a silver lining - but hundreds of people are struck by lightning looking for it" I argued that the mistakes were already there - that they were only coming to light. Not surprisingly, I was made redundant. I digress - great work dude!
  6. Helmet off: Well & truly chuff'd with myself! More 'photogenic' weathering is required - a bit of homework on the how to get dirty threads no doubt!

  8. To date, no charges have been laid. Police check confirms charges are 'pending' No chance of E-11 being returned - no receipt for seized property either Just to clarify: I was wearing a black 'hardface' (polartec) jacket with a mando patch on the left sleeve and fett patch on the right chest. Imp cog was on my 3-day patrol pack. Not a costume, but with black hair, black jeans, black boots I guess it could be mistaken... E-11 was in the exterior side pocket muzzle first so the handle scope and some of the cables were evident. At no point did my pack leave my back, including drinking a whole pot of tea for morno's. Anyone with military b/ground will tell you this is possible, but I couldnt convince the officers In hindsight, definitely a lapse in judgement. Had I packed my tunic & breeches in another bag the blaster could have been contained with noone the wiser. But I packed so nothing would come loose on the march, keeping my hands free in case I fell. Old habits. But when you've got a cold, on a cold day when you think you're running late you make a call, and you live with the results. The stupid part is, as soon as my pack got stripped the force response unit officers ask "is that a stormtrooper gun?" then said "cool" and pulled the trigger saying "you've even got the patches" I had hoped for an ear bashing and all, but alas, not to be. Any developments & I'll share the news.....
  9. I got a set of pouches from Bill through Ebay... Yes they'll come dyed - but not sealed. To stop the dye running you'll need to get some leather sealer. I used a local brand called waproo - I'm sure there are others. It brushes on milky white dries clear in about 3 hrs at room temp depending on the # of coats - 2 is usually ok. Result is a little glossy, but easily weathered.
  10. Who's baaad!? Some of the TAG-Vic crew along with the girls from the Thriller performance Come'on mate! We're only foolin?! Donniebrook over dewback cav vs armoured cav! Almost ready for official MEPD duties...
  11. Work in Progress shots: Good to go Boss! A Jawa's perspective:
  12. My thoughts... I'm using a Korean made copy of the US ALICE Frame at the moment. Primarily to hold enough water in my camelbak bladder for extended troops with as best a harness system as $20.00 can buy . As I'm used to the weight of a service field pack, the total weight of 4.2kg is negligible to me Depending on your torso length (ie shoulders to hips), the alice frame may be too long. In Aus, soldiers often have to retro fit a frame to their issue field pack and the shortening of frames to suit is common To remedy this, the lower assembly would need to have all its rivets drilled out and raised then reattached. The goal is to keep the top of the frame just below the top of your shoulders. Definitely get a friend to measure from the side - extra set of eyes is always good - especially if they're familiar with alice frames I haven't attempted to reshape the frame for the boxes to appear right. This could be done by adding neoprene foam under the bottom half of the boxes to increase the angle as/if desired.
  13. Cheers bro! Great site by the way - all it needs are those classic wipes from one section to another, but the fade outs/ins are cool too.
  14. courtesy of local oz ebayer... Based on a toy gun with a 'pulsating' barrel (not pictured nor necessary) to make the receiver & main barrel sleeve detachable, I used a plastic jar with a screw on lid the jar is forced into the sleeve, while the lid was cut to fit the receiver (around the pre-existing coupling for the toy guns 'internal' barrel) To complete the sling, I ran a lighter along the hessian sling in order to burn down all the fibres. I also replaced the supplied fittings with some spare 25mm ladder locks.
  15. at last, my td ab plate from florida arrived this week the 1st & 2nd cuts
  16. You'll notice there's a pair of hook strips on the themal detonator for the TD button-plate At the time of pic I didnt have one, so I had velco'd half a pvc tube in lieu.
  17. I know its not 100% canon - but so far so good. The Alice frame also allows me to carry a camelbak bladder without too much effort Time to get it dirty.
