  1. The PVC sizes are listed in the tutorial. I cut the "swirls" out of thin plexiglass, and glued them onto the front.
  2. It's all in the helmet liner installation. Some have their face right up against the lenses, some can't turn their head. I spent probably a month just making sure my helmet was good for me.
  3. 'parently I need to be added. I get that the forum doesn't exist.
  4. That's right. You heard it here first. Cool idea from me #647 - got too much junk on your armor? Why not clip your binoculars to your belt. Yeah! Get an old tape measure, and unscrew the belt clip. Screw it onto your binoculars. You can have them slung over your shoulder, around your neck, or now on your belt. And remember, kids - dirty troopers keep dirty binoculars. Weather them up, too.
  5. I say make your backpack fit you, first. Then fit the tube to the pack. All should be in equal proportion.
  6. http://www.imperial-fleet.com/bbcforum/ ... .php?t=115 Let me know if there's any questions on it.
  7. If anything, I'd cut pieces of wood, or foam to put in them. Lightweight, and could pass for many things - extra ammo, grenades, scopes, radio parts, confiscated contraband, etc.
  8. I've seen groups use neon colored zip ties for some occasions. Or maybe the tie will have some sort of tag at the end, saying 'C3' or something.
  9. I originally tried to have mine attach via the backpack's straps, too (like in the movie), but it was very unruly, and kep sliding all over the place. So, I now just use a small loop of nylon strap, with a snap. I'm sure one of those "cord keeper"-types of Velcro things would work great, too. The loop goes around the pouch's loop, then around the shoulder strap of the chest armor. Backpack or not, mine is always right on my shoulder, always in the same place.
  10. Zip tie? Cool. The stickers at C2 were a great idea, but it sucked because you then had a sticker on your prop. And not just any sticker, but a neon orange "Celebration 2" sticker.
  11. I'm reading the beginings of rumblings about C3 and weapons rules - no weapons, stickers (like at C2), barrel plugs, etc. Does anyone know anything for sure?
  12. I used one of the wide, white leather guitar straps. Cut it to the right lengths I needed, and added snaps. Works great.
  13. Yup, that sounds exactly like it was at C2. Should be a perfect time.
  14. I agree with the Dewback theme - we are the ones who ride the dewbacks - that's why I figured all sandtroopers should/could be in it. I also agree with supporting our true commitment - the MEPD. I (usually) always have my MEPD patch around my arm. Looks like I'm am MP or something.
  15. Alright, I've started a new group - the Tatooine Bikini Watchers. It encompasses all sandtroopers within a one block radius of my house.
  16. In another thread, it was mentioned about the 69th Imperial Dewback Cavalry. How do we sign up for it?
  17. Usually after something like that, a lot of the garrisons and squads want pictures, too. Plus, many of us will probably have to get back to the convention, and work. I say getting a picture beforehand may be the best idea. There was a lot of "just standing around" time, at C2 before the picture.
  18. Well, does she know you're a Star Wars fan? If so, then this is the next step, AND the epitome of fandom. Like someone's sig line "Some kids dream of being stormtroopers. Now, some of us ARE." My girlfriend doesn't like Star Wars as much as me or my friends, but she understands the costuming thing, and can support that. It's MY thing to do. She's got her own "private" things to do, too.
  19. http://www.imperial-fleet.com/bbcforum/ ... .php?t=116 My tutorial for the MG-34/DLT-19. Completed, it weighs 3lbs, and will not break like other materials. Costs about $30 to make, assuming you don't have any PVC or wood laying around.
  20. Welcome. I'd suggest getting as many screen captures from the movie as you can They are your real source of info. That's what we're after, in the end - screen accurate.
  21. When you sign things in costume, like autographs, what alphabet do you use, and how do you sign it? I use Aurabesh, and just sign "TD-142". I get all kinds of reactions, from strange looks, to things like "Wow! That must be space language or something."
  22. A hint: if you tip your knee plate a little bit foreward, it won't catch in your thigh pieces. The weathering looks good. I'd say either dirty the chest piece a tiny bit, or lessen the rest of the stuff.
