  1. The tan may take longer, thoughit may soak up better. We shall see.
  2. Thanks, guys. I didn't want to go ahead and snag'em. if they weren't going to convert well to black. I may give the rit dye a shot first. Thanks again.
  3. The blue pauldrons are for parades and such. It matches the blue in our logo. It's a Connecticut thing. I rock the orange myself.
  4. Unfortunitly I'm the only DIRTY trooper in the Garrison (not pictured, that event I was lucky enough to be at work ) in that image. I guess they're weekend sandies.
  5. did you all get the tan ones and rit dye them black...? may snag them then. Thanks
  6. Hope these help. ceck out http://www.starwarshelmets.com, scroll down and look for "move Along" and "stop that ship" troopers. You'll find some good ref shots.
  7. PAULDRON The most obvious feature that sets desert stormtroopers apart from their standard stormtrooper counterparts and even from each other are their pauldrons. Davin is one of two white pauldron troopers. The other, unnamed white pauldron trooper can be seen in the Garindan and Docking Bay 94 scenes of Star Wars: A New Hope. Note: a dewback rider figure was created by Hasbro with a grey pauldron but there is not grey pauldron trooper. They simply misinterpreted the Davin's dirty white pauldron as grey. taken from http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/davin/index.htm The CTG sandtroopers wear a Connecticut BLUE pauldron at special events I agree what ever color you like best.
  8. Has anyone tried these pouches with some Rit dye? http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php ... 7cbe28c2f1 Curious if it'd be worth it. Thanks.
  9. Greetings fellow sandys. Captain4434 here.I'm not NEW to the boards, but it has been sometime since I have been involed on here. Buying/moving to a new house and having a beautiful baby girl back in November. My sandtrooper has taken the back seat for sometime. Now I'm getting back in the swing of things and want to get more involed around here. I am a member and webmaster of The 501st Connecticut TK/TD/DZ 4434. Right now I'm rockin a... RT Mod helmet. FX armor (dirty) Diamond (sniper knee) TD ab plate Feild backpack I'm working on a T-21 and searching for a good set of MP-40 pouches and get deployed with the MEPD. A Few shots of my TD. I'm currently replacing a broken chest piece. http://www.mepd.net/gallery/index.php?cat=10115 Just thought I'd re-introduce myself and dive in and get to know everyone. Take Care - Captain
  10. Very nice work. I just washed all my armor. I need to get it dirty again. Impressive.
  11. Anyone have a good source. I need a new chest armor. I have an ABS FX kit. It snapped up by the collar where it is riveted to the shouder strap. Thanks -Captain4434
  12. Looks great, please share your wheathering tech.
  13. how did you make the ammo drums? parts list??? sizes etc..?
  14. I was just curious, due to the pictures troopers are submitting without BFG's back to the topic at hand.
  15. Well, the last 2 trooper's pictures posted for submission do not have a BFG. As to what Supatroop stated. I have brought up the same question long ago.
  16. so in referance to TK3073 request for deployment... can you request to be deployed to the MEPD with NO BFG...? Because my sandy is ready to role. I just need to snap some shots.
  17. Nice. is the body a solid piece? I started a DLT a few back, I did it with layers, but it came out too thick. Look good there Avatar. keep post progress pics.
  18. double sided tape does work...? I was thinking of giving that a shot next. Thanks for the tips team. -Captain
  19. Cool, Idea. the back with the circuit board looks awesome. Your weathering technquie is very well done. impressive... most impressive.
  20. All of you who have RT-Mod helmets how did you attach the black, brow, trim to the helmet? The instructions suggests rubber cement.... but that didn't work. thanks troops. -Captain
  21. Welp, the reason for questioning this was the "move along" TD as others, do not carry BFG's and that is "cannon" [which is a bit silly, NO one's sandy is screen accurate, but ARE very close. Every trooper is different and that makes this so much fun. I ws just curious, my BFG beefed and was junked, also carrying a BFG at events.... sucks after awhile. I guess I'll have to put together a BFG before I submit my application to the MEPD
  22. It's been a while since I've had a chance to stop in to the dunes here. I'm proud to announce that Connecticut is now it's own Garrison. We've only got besides myself one other sandtrooper, there are more to come. Please visit our home at www.connsquad.com -Captain4434
