Tkboots.com boots are on the way
seed trays have been ordered
tupperware lid found on e-bay on the way
should have a stow n go soon
Have the ammo pouches
So...im well on my way...
Hey Lou, glad to see you embarking on the DIRTY SIDE armored costuming. I'm sure your TD when completed will turn out great and accurate, likewise for your scratchbuilt T-21 too. This is after having seen how your Original Trilogy Darth Vader Helmets and top notch TESB Boba Fett costume turned out.

Just dropped Noel an e-mail concerning this.
EDIT : typo corrected.

ii. "Insert Special Item"
iii. Fonts
iv. Sizes
v. Text Color
vi. Bold
vii. Italics
viii. Underline
ix. Text formatting

Thanks for posting up this thread and pictures Rolf. A very helpful resource centre esp. for those who aspire to be MEPD Deployed.

We are going to start the update process of the forum beginning on Monday the 22nd of February.
.....This is just an FYI thread so no one is surprised and everyone is ready for the change.
The change is going to be a positive thing in the long run for sure, otherwise we wouldn't do it. It will make things run faster and smoother for one... so it's really something to look forward to and I, for one, am excited about it!
Thanks for the heads up announcement, Noel. We shall be looking forward to a faster and smoother MEPD forum after this said makeover has come to pass...

I'm still using Mozilla Firefox Ver. 3.5.7 and the MEPD forum is functioning perfectly normal to me.

Just as it has happened in several different countries so far, yesterday Adidas held a party in their Adidas Originals Headquarters in México City.
The Mexican Garrison was asked to take control of the party, have some pictures taken, dance a bit and celebrate Star Wars and Adidas. The Imperial Forces showed everyone who is in charge in this galaxy.
At the arrival, guests were received by Vader and two Royal Guards. Then, as they came into to store, they were met up by Sandtroopers (me included). Upstairs they could find jawas, tusken riders and even Biker Scouts. Outside, at the backyard/lounge, TKs and TS met the guests where thet could enjoy some DJ music, drinks, pizza in the shape of the Adidas logo. And here and there they could bump into Boba Fett who was just looking around for that "space pirate" (he did not shoed up btw)...
Saludos
Saludos Juan, looks like you and fellow Mexican Garrison members have had a ball in this Adidas Originals party event!
Hmm...even the Jawas and Tusken Raiders made their way there too eh? Good thing there are Sandtroopers such as you to enforce the Galactic Empire's Law and Order so that nothing gets out of hand!

Well done Noel - new look for this new year!

Congratulations on your MEPD Deployment
My 2 cents here - this is an excellent photoshopped picture :
You may improve it further by blurring the lines between you and your background to create a more natural blend. So there are some Rebel scums hiding among the moisture farmers eh? <_<

That's very good to hear Zac. Glad to hear that you have sustainable online connection now.
-
cool bro', i had to go in paris for the same thing , but not the time in the end of the year.
You mean you were not involved with this event : adidas originals x Star Wars @ adidas store Champs Elysées Paris (06.01.10) that is shown on this YouTube video clip at :
just a question of time / use!!
Hmmm I was planning to applying my Sandtrooper weathering medium onto it. ;)
-
Thanks bro, you're THE man. Good thing I've more than enough metal wire to spare, after affixing them to the "T-tracks" of my Cushmann DLT-19, to be used on my Radio Box.
Glad to have discovered something "new" today.
-
You got it.
Here a small weathering update.
I still need a few parts, but will be done this week...
AAaaannddd hopefully taken full suit up pictures out side.
There are still tons of snow here, but i guess i will try to move it for the shots to be taken.
Cheers
Eh you still need a few parts? I thought you've everything in hand to complete your TD Armor?
Ha ha ha ideal weather to do a Snowtrooper / Snow Commander costume, but not so for a TD!
I noticed that you've got this piece of wire going halfway across your Radio Box at :
is to keep the epoxy curing parts together or as a permanent feature?
-
Congratulations (again) Noel, and thanks to Mike for all your contributions to MEPD.
Noel, when's the BBQ of grilled Bantha steak going to be to celebrate this?

Here is a picture me with a pair of these Adidas Stormtrooper shoes, which was taken during the 501st Malaysia-Brunei Outpost's Adidas Star Wars promo trooping on 17 January 2010 :
If people think that this a clean pair Adidas TK shoe, wait till you see the wonders of weathering that I'll do it to make it the Adidas Star Wars SANDTROOPER shoe!
-
WOW....EVEN MY PICTURE IS UP ON THE DEPLOYED SECTION-YOU GUYS WORK QUICK!!!!!
THANX AGAIN ALL
CONGRATULATIONS mate, on your MEPD Deployment!
I sense that you'll soon be making a spud Dewback Lizard for Andrew to commemorate your MEPD Deployment.
-
Xavier, congrats on your MEPD Deployment!

Congrats Krzysztof on your MEPD Deployment!

Good question Peter!
Since we are "optimizing the backpack assembly, I recommend having the untrimmed lip on the outside of the backpack and mounting your components onto it, like this:
The tray with the trimmed edge will be mounted to the backpack frame, on the inside of your pack, closest to your back.
Charlie
Charlie, thanks for your recommendations. I'll position my Seed Trays with the untrimmed lip to be on top /facing up and mount the necessary Backpack components on them. Yes and the Seed Trays with the trimmed lip gets attached to my TD Backpack frame.
-
Looking good Rolf and thanks for sharing your updates with us.
-
I've figured out how to trim the seed trays and get them to stay in position!
The trays are shipped with a 1/4" lip all the way around the edge. If you try to butt the trays together with this lip, they'll never line up, nor will they stay in position. If you cut down the lip on both trays so they are completely flat, then the trays will slide apart, as evidenced by the "move along" backpack:
So (although technically not exactly screen accurate), trim the lip on one tray:
No matter how much you twist, flex, or try to slide the trays apart, they're not going to move.
Tada!
You'll still need to clean up the edge of tray with the lip, perhaps by taking it down to 1/8" tall. Then you need to figure out how you want to keep them closed - magnets, rivets, zip ties, glue, really long screws, hinges, the force, etc...
Charlie, that's a good and innovative idea! This is what I'll be doing with my Top and Bottom pair of Seed Trays.
Need your clarification on one point here - the better way to mount the Seed Trays onto the TD Backpack frame is for the untrimmed lip Tray to be facing up and covering the trimmed lip Seed Tray (where it will be attached to the Backpack frame), right? Or is it the other way round?
Will appreciate your clarification on this one.

Hey pappy1182, made any further progress with your Sandtrooper backpack?
-
Nice work.
Like my other Sandie bros have said, going DIRTY is THE way, no less!!
New armor from the master.

CHEERS to that bro. Frankly speaking until I saw that metal wire that is so obvious on the Radio Box of your latest TD Backpack here :
I've been totally oblivious of its existence! It really takes Sandtrooper vets, like you, to bring this "hidden detail" to the attention of Sandtrooper costuming enthusiasts, such as I! Otherwise this little detail that have been there since 1976 :
would forever remain in obscurity! Having said that I will see to it that a miniature wire be added to my MARMIT "Move Along" Sandtrooper Officer Backpack here :
to complete its screen accurate look!
