I will be releasing the pauldrons before too long. There have been a lot of little things holding it up, but mostly a lack of time on my part. I managed to get a couple "final prototypes" done for Dragoncon (being worn here by Mike & I) which really just lacked the proper rivets, but have not been able to do much since. A few details still kept me from making scores of them. Yesterday I spent some time in the shop working on some, and I will be doing so today as well. Provided everything turns out the way I want it to they will start for real in a couple of weeks. I have a long list of people interested that I will be emailing & working through before I start taking any additional orders. Beyond that I will probably just do them as needed.

Wow, $10? I carry mine in a guitar case but for that price I'd snap up a proper gun case.
-
I can, but I'd rather not if there is another option. The cast captures such incredible detail I'm afraid some of the finer things will get obscured under another coat of paint. I'm going to test on a small part of it & see how it turns out.

I sent another message today, looking for an update. I was more curt than in previous messages, but its been 10 months now & I just want to get this completed.

Yep, you've paid.

Welcome guys!

They did, but the link is dead. http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php ... audron+pdf

I've used latex mask also, its really great for chipped paint effects.

Well, the parts that Mike sculpted for that only cover the top of the stackers, the funky tube on top of the stack, and the twinkie thing at the top. The rest you have to build. In the end, I would agree it looks better than a modern cistern, but it is more work & more expensive. I would like to build one up from the sculpted parts & scratch-built parts, then figure out a way to effectively slush cast it so it would be one big piece like the original toilet cisterns.

There is one floating around the web, but its off of the wrong chest protector.
-
Its the current version of it, you'd have to replace the bottom ridged part with some tupperware burger stackers, but the rest would look okay.

Any advice? I know you can use oven cleaner without damaging resin, but wondered if anyone has had luck stripping paint from a HF. I want to re-paint my DLT19, but I'd like to take the old paint off first.
-
That is what I was thinking of, can't remember what its called though. I'm going to seek out non-leather first, as I'd sooner spray them for accuracy/laziness.
-
Ah, that makes sense. I'd actually prefer to find a pair of Jodhpers that weren't leather. Then I could just use the Rust-oleum Vinyl paint and be done.
-
I think you have to prep the leather first, with some sort of cleaner. I'd imagine making the black material white would take a few applications.

2000! Yeesh man, stick to the replicas. They are heavy to start out, and if they are demilitarized there is a block of solid steel inside the receiver that makes it even heavier.

Has anyone tried white shoe dye? I am getting a new pair soon and was thinking about trying this instead of paint.

Wow too much. My friend Clark as a real one and it was cool to see them in person together. Once the vent holes are covered by the T-track it is difficult to tell them apart unless you are right on top of it.
As an aside, post attachments are on their way. As soon as we sort out bandwidth/storage amounts it will go live.

I put in for you guys to be added (and Pen66 who PM'd me). It might take a day or so, but you'll be on.
-
PM me your TKID & I'll get you on there.

I updated him with my address but haven't heard back yet. I will contact him again in a few minutes.

Many thanks for the nominations, and what excellent company I find myself in! Congrats Mr. Guns! & Mr. MDDS!
-
At this time I will confirm that should I be nominated for DL, that I will accept.

On January 1st (00:01:01 EST [GMT -5]), the 2008 elections for all elected offices in the Legion will begin. First, you must be registered on the 501st Legion forums to nominate officers and to vote - EVEN IN YOUR LOCAL ELECTIONS. If you are not registered already, please visit www.501stforums.com and sign up with the e-mail address you provided to your GML at the time of the last census.
In the menu on the left side, you will see a link to the 2008 elections area:
http://www.501stforums.com/elections2008/
From there, you may submit nominations for the offices of the groups you belong to. Each nominee, that nominee's unit leader, and Legion Command staff will receive an e-mail to notify them of the nomination. Each nominee will need to be seconded before being placed on the ballot. The nominee may then accept or decline the nomination. NOTE: if your current CO intends to run for office again, he or she should be nominated and seconded, even if there is no apparent challenger!
Note also that nominations can be accepted or declined before a second is received, but the acceptance will not count until there is a second. A declined nomination will be effective immediately.
All nominations are anonymous. No one will know who nominated whom through this utility.
Once the nomination period ends (January 15, 2008 at 23:59:59, EST [GMT -5]), each Garrison, Outpost, Squad, and Detachment will be responsible for conducting the question-and-answer period on their OWN FORUMS. Candidates for Legion Commanding Officer will have their Q&A session conducted on the Legion forum as usual.
(Please note that the office of Merchandise & Branding Officer is NO LONGER AN ELECTED POSITION according to a recent Charter amendment)
Voting will begin on February 1, 2008, 00:01:00 EST. The ballot will be presented to each member through the Legion forum, and will be the only vote considered valid. Voting will end February 14, 2008 at 23:59:59 EST.
A summary:
- Submit anonymous nominations through the Legion forum (January 1, 00:01:00 EST - January 15, 23:59:59 EST).
- Second, accept, and decline nominations from the Legion forum (before January 15, 23:59:59 EST).
- Garrisons, Outposts, Squads, and Detachment create special areas for questions from members to candidates (January 16, 00:00:00 EST - January 31, 23:59:59 EST).
- Vote at the Legion forum (beginning February 1, 00:01:00 EST).
If you do not see a unit listed that you believe you are a member of (for example, Detachments), please send that unit leader an e-mail requesting access, with a copy to Legion Data Droid Darren Blum (501st@blums.net).
Submit all other questions, comments, and concerns to the Legion Captain of the Guard (crimson@omegawing.net)."

I think SciFire usually only ships within the US, although you could have someone in the US receive it & reship it to you.
