CC5707
I have been around the Legion a bit, worked on some TD builds, but have mainly been TK and Clones. Phase 2 Rex is my main costume. I am also the MidSouth Garrison GML, and help with build all the time. Recently, a new recruit showed up with a set of CTM. It is a recast and a bit of a soft pull, but good plastic, and not bad overall. He was a big guy, and it was near impossible to fit him. He decided to go AM now that they are back, and I picked up the CTM kit for my own TD, finally. Kit is built out standard method. We have a move along here already, so I decided to go enlisted alley check, black pauldron and pack #4. Maybe I missed it, but I can not find a swat application for this character. Luckily I was informed the CRL images are not accurate on the weathering, I was going to match that! So I did the best I could with the images, there is not much of him head on to judge, It looks like some black on the bottom of the chest, so that is what we did. I have my pack already from dirty boy, just need to finish it out. Pouches and pauldron are on the way, so I hope to join the TD ranks soon! Any thoughts on the weathering so far? Helmet is not done yet, that is next. Anyone seen a swat of this?
darthgrace
looks great but I think the boots are a little heavy on the weathering. otherwise really nice job.
Felice
Not only the boots are a little heavy on the weathering. Also the legs and arms (compared to the main body). The best way to SWAT is to check the movie sequences for your trooper...so my friend it's time to watch ANH again and again and again... CC5707
Yeah, his movie sequence is pretty short....have been looking!
CC5707
Does anyone know if this armor was used on another trooper somewhere else in the movie? Doing my best to find weathering patterns.
CC5707
My buddy who is the weathering artist is lightening it up. We are trying to do our best to match on screen. Has it been asked if the low brow move along black pauldron trooper would have the same weathering as the low brow alley check black pauldron? I did read pandatrooper's excellent black pauldron write up, and jsut don't have any good weathering reference for alley check enlisted. Femtrooper Julie was nice enough to test my helemt padding! Vf2112
Getting Jules to model your helmet is cheating bro
CC5707
LOL, wondered if I would ever get any comments! She is a sweet heart, and really helps in the armor shop! Here is the first test fit. The thighs are just a bit tight, I need to redo with a bigger cover strip in the back. My Spanish pouch was on the wrong side, but you all get the idea. Feel free to give any tips!
