This is the story Who is She and what happen to Her? Marta is a nice and modest student. She studies chemistry at Wroclaw University. Her friends say that she is a very warm, friendly and open person. She likes helping others. She is always full of life and joy. Her teachers from primary, secondary and music school remember Marta as a very good and positive student. They decided to help her immediately after the accident. Marta is also a big fan of 'Star Wars'. She belongs to Polish Outopst which is part of international organisation - Legion 501 with 4000 members (Star Wars fans) from 30 countries. She identify herself with Ysanne Isard - a very powerful and bad-tempered women with strong personality. Becasue of her character Ysanne was known as Iceheart(!) Ironicaly Marta has a heart defect. Of course Marta's personality is totally opposite to Ysanne's one. Her Accident On 2 March Marta was running to a tram stop in Gorzow. She came from Wroclaw to Gorzow in order to get to the Heart Clinic because she has had a heart defect since birth. She intended to catch a tram but, at that moment, her heart suddenly stopped beating. Unfortunately, there was noone available to give her First Aid. When she finally arrived at hospital, the doctors tried to resuscitate her for a long time. She lay unconscious in the intensive care unit until 15 March whereafter she was transferred to the Cardiological Unit where she remains up until now. Marta finally began to regain consciousness on Good Friday, 21 March 2008. This process of waking her up lasted almost a week. At present she is conscious but has limited awareness of her surroundings (reaction to pain and voices). Although there have subsequently been some improvements in her condition, she must still undergo a lengthy rehabilitation process. Marta Needs Your Help What kind of help? Of course, donations would be most appreciated - it is widely known that NFZ can finance only a small part of treatment costs. We can't comprehend why this is the case, but in this situation analyzing our counrty's healthcare system would be a waste of precious time. A young girl's health is at stake and she needs your help now. Marta is facing a long and expensive physical and neurological rehabilitation and medical treatment. Martha's family is not able to cope with financing the entire treatment and rehabilitation. We will not comment on how social care organizations approached the issue. basic needs: * daily nutrition (IV) - suitable nutrients, supplements, vitamins.
