  7. The UK Garrison attended this event on Saturday 2nd September and a contingent of MEPD Officer's of the Britannia Patrol were present. This was all in aid of raising funds for St Helenas Hospice and Colchester Hospital and a lot of money was raised. First troop as a deployed officer since transferring from the TKs and the public really enjoyed interacting with the MEPD. A brilliant day. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  11. Oh man...... That's awesome. Thank you. And thanks for the comments. I had a lot of advice and assistance from my Sandie brothers in Brittania Patrol, for which I'm eternally grateful. As for Call Sign....... it's gotta be Trip, if thats ok? Many MANY thanks, brother. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  12. Cheers bud. Hopefully I'll be deployed soon enough. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  13. OK so the elastic arrived on time and I sewed on the snap fasteners. I put them slightly forward from the centre point so it'd bring the shoulder bells slightly forward. The ends were attached to the back and chest plate with poppers, then they were lightly weathered. The issue with the ab buttons has been resolved and it ain't going anywhere now (hopefully.......) So there we go. Hopefully all sorted. Hope that's to your liking Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  14. That's awesome. Thanks so much for being so prompt. I have some 2" elastic and fasteners being delivered tomorrow so soon as they're here, I'll sort it out, weather it and post the pics. Cheers for that. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  15. Sorted. Cheers, trooper. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  16. Aye.... tried E6000 AND Superglue and it just gets knocked off. I sanded the back of the buttons and the nodule it's attached to remove any old glue residue and restuck it and left it overnight with stromg rare earth magnets AND a hefty weight on it. Seems ok (so far) I think there may have been some old glue left over from the TK buttons that gave it an uneven surface. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  17. Got the photos of the fasteners sorted. The elastic for the shoukder straps is being sourced later. Does the elastic required need to be the same worth as the nylon webbing currently in use? Many thanks.
  18. Yeah the button strip has been the bane of rhis build - it just refuses to stay put. Drastic measures are needed. The detail pic of the rivets will be done. I admit I totally forgot about then. I *THINK* I have some from when I went for basic 501st clearance. As for the shoulder straps I thought it was nylon webbing OR white elastic? That's easily sorted though (if I can win the battle with the chest plate return, changing a bit of materiel won't be too much of a hassle.....[emoji38]) Thanks for your feedback dude. 19. Name : Steve Dredge 501st ID : 10450 MEPD Forum Name : DStig Garrison : UK Garrison After a while of getting my TD adapted from my EIB level TK and cleared with the 501st, I decided to apply for PO clearance with the MEPD. I created a thread a while back about screws in the chest plate, and needed to adapt mine as there wasn't enough of a return edge on the underside of the chest plate to accommodate the 6 screws. This has (hopefully) been rectified as the chest plate now has the required screws. The weathering was done using Raw Umber acrylic paint and the sponge on/rag off method. I tried to maintain quite a heavy weathering, but not TOO much (sandy, not swampy...). The weathering hasn't been sealed yet, so it can be easily be adjusted. I hope that this is acceptable and if there are any problems, please let me know and I'll sort them out as soon as possible. 20. It dies need moving down a tad as well. Might have a look at doing that. Cheers matey. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks for all the feedback and advice, gents. I'll sort out the darker parts of the weathering and soften any 'wiped' areas. I also think lighter tone wash will make it look more organic and natural. As for the original question, I will certainly be going for PO, but will need another chest plate and make sure there's more of a return to allow for the screws. Thanks guys. 22. Thanks for the feedback mate. Hopefully going in for UKG clearence next week so should be trooping as a Sandie by end of the month. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah sure. Bearing in mind this is my first attempt at something like this so any suggestions or constructive criticism is welcome. I used RAW UMBER acrylic paint, slightly watered down, and applied with a sponge, then used a damp rag to 'roll' the paint off. I tried to think of where the dirt would naturally build up and where it would be removed. I went for a mid/heavy effect and keep an even loon all over. Thoughts and suggestions or advice greatly received.
  24. Cheers bud. It won't be a problem getting a other chest plate, but would rather wait til I've got it sorted BEFORE applying for PO, rather than getting 99% through only to then wait til it's been sorted. And yeah, I agree it IS worth the work. EIB certainly was, in the end. Almost ready for basic clearence, just need the pouches and pauldron, and one part for my pack. Weathering has been done on the kit too. Cheers for the help mate. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  25. Having looked at the CRL fir both TK and TD I have a question about the screws in the chest plate. Are they REALLY essential? I attained EIB level for my TK and it's my understanding that EIB runs parallel to PO level and as you may have guessed, my chest plate doesn't have the screws in place. Reason being, there's not enough return for them. So my question is, as I want to go for PO (not SWAT) so would it be worth it or not? Seems it'd be a waste of everyone's time to through the whole process only to have this halt my progress. Only option is to get another chest plate which obviously takes time. Opinions greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
