Merry Christmas troopers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Hey man, welcome! I don’t know how the trooperbay stuff is but my pauldron is from Trooper 1 and its really nice. Pouches are from blaster8266 which are also really nice. For the neckseal I went with Darman and for the belt Rob Kittel. As for boots I went with TK Boots(heard they weren’t selling them right now but it looks like they are according to their site). As for the undersuit I just bought that from amazon, it was about $30 for shirt and pants. Hope this helps... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome to the sandbox, there are 2 types of stormtroopers. There are Sandtroopers and TK’s who wish they were... Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for all the suggestions! I ended up using E6000 to glue 2 black plastic strips to the back of the pouch. I think it solved the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s a good idea, I thought about backing the pouch with cardboard, might try your method instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I initially did that based on your thread. The loops on the back of my pouches look bigger than yours so they’re not tight against the pack straps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can you show me a photo when you get a chance? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys, this seems to be a chronic issue for me and it shouldn’t be. My canvas shoulder pouch is either getting partially stuck under my chest plate or folding over since it’s segmented. It’s attached to my pack strap by 2 Alice clips. Can’t seem to remedy this! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I actually bought it for my son for Christmas but opened it to read, I couldn’t wait. You guys won’t be disappointed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just thought I’d post and see if anyone else has bought this book. I’d recommend it, it covers everything. There are several pages on sandtroopers with a blurb about the backpacks and some good photos. The canteen and canisters are definitely a battleship grey in the pics. Here’s a cool photo I’d never seen before.Worth picking up! It mentions the tie fighters were painted with a sea blue which has been since discontinued line of color from Pactra...Wonder if they used the same color for the backpacks...? My original goal was “Look sir, droids” but I wanted to do my own weathering. So I’m going for PO as soon as I get my handplates but I was curious just Incase I’m willing to re weather my kit. I was just looking at your build thread on FISD. Thanks for your service... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Out of curiosity, how many of you guys cut a wedge out of the backs of your thighs/calves? Looking at stills from the movie it doesn't look like the sandtroopers had any cut outs from what I've seen. And does it effect SWAT at all? Thanks!

I ended up ordering them from Joseph, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s how I weathered mine, acrylics then fullers earth. Then I went back in and would tint some of the fullers earth with acrylics. I was a professional illustrator for years and worked in the toy industry. I kind of looked at the armor as one big model. I think a combo of the two mediums gives you a nice real world feel. I used liquitex acrylics, raw umber/Payne’s grey and the 2nd coat was a mix of raw umber/raw sienna. Also added some 50% grey and pencil at the end. Looking forward to see your finished armor! Crookknight's Sandtrooper Armor and Pack Build Thread
deckard1138 replied to CrookKnight's topic in Sandtrooper Armor
Awesome! I’ve got the same sander. Harbor freight had it on sale. Worth its weight in gold. I used it on my pack build and 2 sets of armor. Really works nice for fine tuning pieces. Looking good! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 33 replies

Popped stitches
deckard1138 replied to deckard1138's topic in Pouches, Pauldrons, and other Accessories
Thought of trying that but I suck with a rivet gun, they never turn out right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
My MP40 pouch popped the stitches on the back. It’s too far down the pouch for me to be able to sew. Does anybody know of a good glue I could use? I tried Weldwood because I heard it was perfect for the job but it’s not holding well. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
