  1. Let me take a cleaner pic and repost.
  2. Looking at my profile pic can someone tell my if my tube stripes are the acceptable color? Thank you
  3. Congrats! Proud Papa I completed my 23 year project last June when my last of 3 kids graduated high school, now continuing on with my current project, college Building armor is a walk in the park.
  4. Hey thanks, all of you, for the encouragement and I apologize for going over the top. Funny thing, after my last post I called my wife to vent and she replied "Really!? Time for decaf. IT'S A COSTUME", I laughed, oh yea I've decided to leave it as is, if I change my mind then I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Here's me and this Mrs last weekend. Soon as I get my pack I'll submit. Until then troop time
  5. Hey Gary thanks for chiming in. Animal, that's an understatement . The part I find most frustrating is there's no weathering documentation, current standard or ongoing besides reading someone else's weathering thread. If it's changing and not documented then those up and coming (like myself) have no base besides, oops you did that wrong start over Weathering is time consuming and time is what I lack. For me, doing it RIGHT the first time would be optimal. If there were something that said, "This TD looks like this, and this TD looks like this and with new information discovered, next month it will look like this". That would be awesome. IMHO, S.W.A.T. is the Centurion of TD. The goal should be to set the standard, document it, raise the bar, repeat. Wow, with all my complaining I should have put this in a different forum , sorry all, Monday blues.
  6. Well I've looked at several build threads and it appears S.W.A.T. seems to have a huge grey area when it comes to details, or IDK maybe it's up to interpretation of the approving officer? I'm probably wrong on both. With my other (TK) armor, I'm building it straight to ANH Centurion from start to finish, of course with a stop only at EIB, my goal is to build it correct the first time. There's specifics for this, and their listed. I guess that's what I was attempting to do with my TD.
  7. Hey guys thanks for getting back to me. So let's say I wanted to apply for Road Block Captain (orange paldron) S.W.A.T., which is actually what I was shooting for. Besides what is listed in the crl, you're telling me there are weathering specifics like dirt color, dirt patterns, stains and paint marks, etc also? If so, where are these specifics listed / illustrated? Thanks for your help
  8. Hey all, I read in a officer approval "DONE" thread (seen below), when applying for S.W.A.T. the type of TD you are applying for (ex. "Captain Road Block v1") also requires weathering your armor specifically to that. If this is true, where exactly are these requirements listed? Now I'm only talking about weathering styles. A.) DEPLOYMENT OFFICER: "The only thing I want to note is that if you do decide to go SWAT , the weathering may have to be altered in certain sections depending on which TD you select." Thanks for your help
  9. Holy smokes this prop is starting to look like a real weapon, excellent detail
  10. Nice! What kind of paint did you use and colors? Thanks
  11. Most impressive. Eagerly awaiting ongoing results
  12. I've notice a few members custom coloring their DLT19 butts to resemble wood grain, is this common? What do you have? Pics welcome
  13. Spray can it is then. Thanks guys
  14. Thanks, I read somewhere, I think on whitearmor some guys over here are spray canning their pouches, is this true. If so what kind of results are you getting?
  15. Can anyone suggest a good heavy duty permanent dye for canvas with nylon stitching? Regular clothes dyes fade after a while and of course the sticking doesn't dye, though a sharpie works pretty well but not the best.
  16. Hello, not to hijack this thread but I'm in a similar situation where i want to convert some TK FX armor to TD however, I can't seem to find any TD ab plates. I've seen other forums where this is done so I know I can do it I just can't seem to find the parts. Any help would be appreciated. Tony
  17. Hey all, old thread new question. Regarding dying canvas pouches, I have these dark green pouches I dyed black with standard industrial clothing dye. The material dyes relatively well but the nylon stitching does not. Basically I had to sharpie the stitching nut now it's starting to fade(lighten) in the sun light. I'm using these packs for my HWT and would like to retain (as long as possible) the new black look. Are there any another dyes or stains that you may have had good luck with? Something that's stronger and will completely dye these things, even the leather strapping without me having to drop them in a bucket of black paint.
