  1. Hi all, I was wondering, how do I "glue" my vinyl hand plates to my rubber gloves? I was proposed two methods: -using contact glue the other -using CA glue please tell me what method you guys used and how it worked for you. thanks for all the help TD-1235
  2. I filled mine with wood and ABS all trimmed to the shape of the knee. Then filled in the gaps I had with epoxy. After that I glued three strips of ABS (so the plate sits a bit away from the shin) and then scewed it all in place (so I can remove it if need be.
  3. Hey again. lets continue with the chin pieces. front, side and back again any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks for looking
  4. Hey all future TD-1235 here. Here is a look at some of the parts with the burnt umber applied. First we have the legs, left and right with a couple of different views. Let me know your thoughts on those. thanks
  5. Hi all, Well the deed is done. My old TK is going to become my "new" TD. No turning back now here is a color example I am going for. (on the hand plate) What I did: -first I took a scuff pad to "dull" the white out, then I used some burnt umber for the dark parts and finished off with true ocher By using the ocher it softens the burnt umber and the ocher gives it a "sandy" look (anyway to my eye) I went with Pandatrooper's tutorial and adapted the colors I liked. (thanks for a GREAT tutorial, sir) Later all
  6. Hi all, I am starting my TK conversion and I have a question about the TD knee plate. I am looking at the knee plate and it is close to an inch thick. I was wondering what would be the "normal" or acceptable thickness of the knee plate. thanks for your help
  7. Hi all, I have a question: I was looking at the different combinations of TD. captain, sergeant and private. I am wondering can you mix backpack, weapon, pouches and pauldron color? for example: have the captain docking bay 94 version but with an other backpack or other different combinations thanks
  8. thanks all for the help. I knew I could count on the guys on MEPD to help out
  9. I tried to send him a PM but the system told me that he can't receive any messages at this time. will try again later. thanks
  10. Hi all, As per the topic, I am looking to convert my TK into a TD and am looking to replace the four "buttons" of the left side of the TK abdomen with the three white `buttons" of the TD. thanks for all the help.
  11. thanks for the info please keep the advice coming
  12. Hi all, I was looking in weathering my armor and came across a few ways to do it. 1-you have the acrylics method 2-acrylics with fuller's earth 3-the hairspray and just fuller's earth. I was looking at a site where he shows the hairspray fuller's earth method. I like it since it looks like it gives you that nice dirty/dusty look. But I was wondering, since you use hairspray to hold everything in place, how durable is it? and if you guys have tried it, how do it look in person/up close? You guys say, "don't use sandpaper", but in this method he uses foam sandpaper blocks to sand away the excess, if I do not use sand paper to remove excess what method shoud I use to remove excess. also, please comment on the different methods of weathering, good points/bad points, effect achieved with different methods. thanks alot future TD-1235
