Hi shadow, do you have a Google docs account ? Or a link to somewhere we can view your pics mate?

Posted

Hi , I will see if I can set one up this evening and upload the files and then paste in the links . I have a T21 and a DLT19 both have clearance from the UKG , I can put photos of them up also although the bapti E11 is the only one that I have photos of for this set at the moment.  I am working on a RT-97C currently but that wont be ready for another few days I expect. Thanks Vincent

b. weathering: see comments

RESULT ON BACKPACK:

*  Pack frame will need to be shortened at the top by an inch or two, and pack raised up also as it sits too low,

The radio and above box should nearly touch and the electrical tape on seed tray should go all the way around not just the sides, and as always needs lots more dirt to clean,  so a few adjustments here sorry mate.

Hi Vince , most of the pack changes seem possible apart from changing the frame size , the frame apparently was one bought many many years ago and is the exact frame as was used in the original films . Is it the photos that make it look out , if so happy to make the other adjustments you ask for and photo again with better angles for you to review as actually cutting the frame would be possibly putting my UKG clearance in jeopardy as well as harming a very rare frame.

What's your advice ?

Regards

Chris

Hwy Chris

Please disregard the comments about tape going all the way round on backpack,  I've been shown a version much the same as yours I hadn't seen before my mistake

Out of interest,  how tall are you??

Give this a look over for more info

It was passed onto to me and I found it helpful as new info is always popping up

I just noticed how long your mortar tube is, and it seems way too long.

If you shorten the top to just above pack and tighten your straps up to lift your pack you might be ok.

I might be wrong but I have a funny feeling whatever your pics were taken with is distorting things.

From behind your pack looks massive, like way too big.

And from the front I had to look at your bucket a couple times as it looked like the done was way too big.

But in the carded looking pic you have everything looks great from the front.

Just a thought

I think its the wide angle on the phone that's causing a little distortion , I bought the suit from a 501st guy and apparently it's a centurion grade suit whatever that means  so it's likely my phone that's causing a little distortion. The carded pic was taken by a friend on a real camera . I am 180cm in height luckily I was exactly the same height and frame as the guy I bought the suit from so it fitted me perfectly.

I have amended the permissions to allow for all  who have the link , sorry about that , its my natural instinct to limit access to things , sorry.

The frame is about 62 to 63cm in length top to bottom

Oh , another thing , I suspect that the pack looks low on my back as not only was the phone camera wide angle but it was taken slightly looking down and makes the pack look lower on my back than it is in reality.

Just working on how to dirty up the weapons , I did a lot of flaking paint on the dklt19 but I see I need to add some more dirt , same on the bapty

Sorry , one question , if he mesh is removed from the teeth area does this not make it easier for people to see into the helmet ? What is the alternative we should use ?

Hey Chris thanks for fixing photo permissions and info

Some good questions there.

Just quickly the tube stripes should be ok

Removing the teeth mesh is standard for mepd, ppl being able to see is just the way it is, mesh is a TK thing, as is centurion.

I suspect the phone pics may be an issue but in your side on shots you can see pack is stil low but does look better in that pic.

Weathering just means dirt, lots of dirt , same as what's on your armor, if your using "fuller's earth" or similar it will clean off till your happy with result before fixing it with fixative.

As it stands,

-once you've closed  the gaps in sides of armor between abdomen and kidney plate ,

-removed mesh from helmet,

-and dirtied up pretty much everything,

-lifted your right calf or maybe lower your thigh to close gap a little,

-then as well as pics of shoulder straps between chest and back armor,

Then we need some better pics of you in in armor kitted up again,

Front , back. Both sides arms up ,

Inside out of helmet no mesh, weapons with some dirt on them, if you think dirt with ruin them, I'm not sure what to say, this is mepd.

I suggest if your using a phone stand back a lot further and take shots at waist height or at least chest height,

Please don't add to that folder, we need all new pics,  if you can make another folder with permissions that would be great

Any more questions font hesitate

Cheers

Vince

Thanks Vince , I will remove the mesh today and have ordered some fullers earth to weather the weapons - as I am just completing a new blaster , the RT97C , then I can practice on that one before weathering the DLT19 , T21 and E11s (std and bapti)

I will send photos of straps between chest and back armor shortly

I will get new photos as soon as I can find someone who is willing to help me suit up as I wont be seeing any of the guys until after the New Year now

Regards

Chris
