In addition to weathering with Fuller's Earth, acrylic paint, and family throwing Pop-Its at my armor, I also use a little dirt, soil, and sand from places meaningful to me.  I occasionally hairspray my armor, then fling on dirt and sand from many places I've collected over the years: soil from my old Pennsylvania backyard I grew up in; dirt from the PA steel mills I've worked; sand from Maui, Tampa Bay, and Lake Erie; soil from a German forest, Stonehenge, and the churchyard I was married in, sand from the Buttercup Valley Imperial Sand Dunes in CA where they filmed the Sarlacc Pit in ROTJ, and many other places.  I just think it's cool to dirty-up with so many endearing places, and it makes for great conversation when waiting around for a troop to start.

Just wondering if anyone else out there does this, or am I the crazy one?  :)

I think that's a good idea. It personalizes your armor and makes it special. I like it.
