*DONE* TD 32945 Requesting Deployment

Recommended Posts

Hi Wayne, welcome to the sandpit and thank you for your interest in joining our deployed troops on Tatooine.

I will be taking care of your review. I can already say that your gear looks good and suits you well. Nice job on that TK to TD conversion. Your application is tidy but I still have to ask for some additional imformation and pictures.

Please edit your first post and add a link to your 501st profile.

I will have to see some detail pics of the following things:

-a pic in which you squeeze your handguards showing that they are flexible, either made of rubber or silicone.

-a more detailed pic showing the six rivet connecting the ab and kidney.

- a close-up of the chest bottom returnedge showing the six screws emulating the original bracket strapping.

- a picture showing the strapping on the inside of your armor (don't worry, you do not need to have the screen-used bracket strapping).

- a picture of the backside of the male snap on the abdomen on the right.

- a picture of the rivets on your knee ammobelt.

As soon as I have those, I can start the review, so way to go.:salute:

Hi, thanks for looking at it so quickly!

Apologies for missing those shots...I’ll get them done and sent in a bit later today...had to make an impromptu repair after kitting up yesterday and waiting for the glue to set

Hi Wayne,

welcome again and thanks for your interest in becoming a deployed Police Officer of the MEPD. I think you´ve done a great job in converting your TK to TD… much cooler now.:peace:

Great to hear that you are able to do a troop once every weekend when times are normal, you´re probably missing it right now… as we all are. Also cool to see that you are obviously taking good care of your gear as it has survived so many trooping events already.

At a first glance everything looks good and your gear suits you well, so let´s get into those details with the review.

Nice helmet, I like the subtle weathering. Brow´s a little low for my liking but that of course is personal preference. Am I right to assume that it´s an RWA kit?

Nice armor, worthy of being converted to TD. Just one question out of interest: why have you added duct tape to the small Spanish pouch? I mean it fits in well with the overall look and the excessive use of it on the original suits but why did you use it here?

Your pack looks great with all those original parts. I really dig it that you even took the time and made the effort of adding the red support straps, good eye for the details.

The only thing that I will have to point out is the mortar tube. It is much too shiny and does not really fit in with the rest of the parts. Also have a look at these reference pics from the movie or behind the scenes:

So there are different possibilities now, either you paint it with some satin black paint which would be my first choice or you just sand it down using some fine grit sandpaper or you weather it… that´s up to you as long as it doesn´t look as shiny anymore at the end.

Nice E-11, great details, even a metal triggerguard, cool. But I always encourage people to go “full Bapty”… would also be much more in line with those red back support straps.:D

Wayne, this was your first review!

There´s not much to do, that one small change is a walk in the park and I expect to hear from you soon again, keep up the great work.

Cheers mate

Hi Hausi!

Many thanks for the review! Can’t believe I hadn’t noticed how shiny the mortar tube was! Rookie mistake! I’ll get on to that right away!

It is an RWA kit..well spotted..and many thanks for the kind compliments!

I also have a T21 but didn’t put that in for clearance as I don’t have a strap for it.

Many thanks for taking time to review my application...I’ll sort the tube out now

Regards

Wayne

There’s a story behind the tape on the small pouch!

I did a troop a few months back and we had to use a disability lift to get us to ground level from the changing area on the top floor.

The lift got stuck so the floor of it was about 4ft from the floor and the only way to get out was to swing out onto a chair to get down.

I removed my lid, pauldron and pack and swung out...after I’d got down I realised I’d caught the pouch on the edge of the lift floor pulling the stitching out of the strap.

The tape was wrapped around it to help keep the strap in place while it glued again but I kept it as I liked the look of it. I’m so pleased it hasn’t affected my submission and had to be removed

Hi Wayne,

swift work mate but I wouldn´t have expected anything else, well done.

That´s quite a story about your little adventure getting stuck in that lift. Glad you came out of it in one piece and just that minor damage to the pouch which actually fits the costume very well. Would have been a pity to lose that little reminder.:)

Let´s get the second round of your review going.

Wayne, this was your second and final review!
Your gear looks great and you are a worthy addition to the ranks of the MEPD´s finest.

Be proud of yourself!

You have successfully followed the guidelines in regards to the MEPD CRL and have met all requirements.

Please send the pic you want to use to Luis (Sandman Tigui) and we'll get you squared away.

I will have your updated information uploaded into the MEPD system asap.

Congratulations on becoming a Deployed Officer of the MEPD!

Now get out there, help clean the streets and alleyways of all that scum and villainy...

...and show those shinies what the big boys look like.:peace:

Cheers mate!

  • 2 months later...

So, after reading a number of threads on the forums involving people building their own blasters I decided to have a go myself. (My current T21 was built for me)

I won’t give a step by step account as I pretty much followed Pandatroopers build along with various bits from others.

Her are a few pics of my progress so far after a few weeks. 8c0d77e2f96676c17b50fb6dce352ea3.jpg

It has a working trigger and rear sight too.

Got the extra wire and greeblies to fit today and then I think it should be ready for paint.

Thanks for looking!
