How personalised is enough?

How much personalisation is too much for 501st/MEPD deployment?

I'm talking normal weathering, except as TDs were deployed in remote worlds they would of formed tight knit groups. Would unique things such as a dirty glove/handprint on the chest/helm or something like muddy 'war paint' be too far?

If not, I also like the 'scar' that the TK commando has painted over his eye, and have asked before if a battle scar on a TD would be acceptable, but got told no. But I have just looked over the deployed police officers, and http://www.mepd.net/deployed/td-6513/ has one. Is this acceptable, maybe a bit more bold?

Hi, Kazimir!

Yes, there are several Deployed Officers on the roster with the old detailing. They were accepted back in the early days of the MEPD and where 'grandfathered' in to be included with the current MEPD Officers. This particular trooper has been a Legion member (TD) since January 2009. (He will not be required to overhaul his gear unless he goes SWAT. We have been encouraging the older deployed members to upgrade their gear, though. Some have already complied.)

All new candidates have been required to follow the updated rules implemented in 2010-2011. We are trying to assemble a more organized looking bunch of TDs. (SWAT just goes without saying.)

The standard 501st Legion TDs have a little more freedom with their paint schemes, though. You can always just do that, as well.

The MEPD is trying to emulate what was seen in SW on Mos Eisley. So with that said, we try not to go too crazy with our weathering or personalization here.

My advice would be to steer clear of heavy paint mods like that and build your gear within MEPD requirements. Hope that helps, Brother!
