Blaster 8266 Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 I want this more than I can say. I have all my armor at work with me. It goes with my in my truck just in case I need to make a mod, I can do it and get pics posted. Trying to get this part done so I can concentrate on other things. Thanks for the words. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Juan Let me know if you want new full dress pics with all the new stuff you can see a better over all picture of what everything looks like. Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Hey Anthony... Again, sorry for the delay. Real life and work gets in the way sometimes... too many I would say. So, here are a few things I would suggest for you to do to have a more accurate backpack... Noted them with colors on the picture. The Mortar tube should be lowered (Green)... The top should be at the same hight than the top seedtray (Blue). The control panel on the mortar tube should be shorter on the lower end (Red). Also, it should be placed more upwards, away from where your back would be and closer to the outer face of the pack. (Yellow). Does that makes sense? Finally, the lower end of the tube and radar dish should come closer to the end of the lower canister. (Blue) You should ad an hexagonal head bolt to the center of radar dish. (red) The cister syphon needs two rectangular details on the dome (red). I would paint the white scratches (yellow) Top mushroom cap on top canister looks a bit off. The one used in ANH has a more round dome like shape. Let me know if you need more info or references... I will be also posting about your weathering ASAP. Saludos. Juan Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 OK i can fix all of this but the top bottle cap. I have no idea how to make it more round. Any ideas? Maybe Dirty Boy knows since I got the pack from him. Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Dont really know either... Maybe heating and deforming? Or just a new one? Let me check my references and previous SWAT submissions... Maybe we can get to a mid term here... Saludos. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 K let me know. I will post a better pic of what it looks like from the top and side. Quote
SMOKE Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Great work Anthony! You have inspired me to get up off my butt and start building my new armor!! Your pictures look great! Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Thanks brother. I have swat grade pouches for sale. Check them out. Quote
DirtyBoy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I think it's just the angle of the pack and the top cap. I think that should be fine. Quote
DirtyBoy Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 The other parts are easy fixes. Make sure you make the rape on the lower seed tray the thinner version. The top tape is thicker Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 OK here are the fixes Fixed length of tube control panel and placement to top of box Added rectangle strips and correct stripes on lower box No white spots on siphon Bolt on radar and correct placement to bottle A few pics to show top cap roundness You can see in this bottom pic that I moved the tube closer to the boxes Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Looks good. I still think the screw on the radar dish is not quiet what I had in mind. I will post references tomorrow and we can talk about it if you feel like it. Other things look good but will check my references. But seems fine. On my phone ATM do Picts sizes are not as I would like to. Good job bro. And good push. Almost there. Saludos. Juan. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Yes please let me know about the bolt on the radar dish. I would like to see what kind it is. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 I looked at you pics and I think this might be what you are talking about. Please let me know. Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Yep. Thats it. Awesome... Ill be posting about weathering and probably final tweaks later today! Saludos Quote
inglorious trooper Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 whohay anthony, now your getting close, just looking back at your thread and when i took a look i noticed that nearly everything youve done are minor mods! just goes to show that you made a great start for S.W.A.T. deployment an should give yourself a pat on the back! good luck bro Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Hey Anthony, here is my review on weathering... I made some comparison shots where i pointed out the mods i thinkyoubshould make. Please, use as many reference picts from ANH when working on them... I included just one for general illustration. Pls, let me know if you have any question. Sorry for the rotated picts... Cant make them work right from the mobile app. Saludos. Juan Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 What do you mean by irregular texture? Does it need just some kind of texture? I may just have to start over on the weathering. Let me see what i can do. Quote
iconoclasta_88 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 No brother. Dont start over. Just give it a few passes with a paper towel to remove a bit here and there. If necesary, add a bit more paint, another layer on top. But looks almost there. Check references and if possible turn picts into b/w to chek better the contrast and amount of weathering. Just avoid the regular or blurred look in those spots. Is that better? Saludos. Quote
DarthChridan Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Wooah... at first that I must say....@Juan: you make a really great job as the 'Deployment-Officer'.... especially seen at the pics with showing of the 'weathering', how he can make it better..... @Anthony: You come really closer to the end result...especially at the pack, I like your work. But one thing...for me personally, I would had used rather abs pieces instead of black gaffa tape on the toilet cistern. It looks a little bit better----> ...but this is only my opinion ...otherwise you're on a good way. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 I see what you mean. Let me see what I can do. Quote
Blaster 8266 Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 OK can anyone tell me where to get good reference pics to check weathering on the Move Along trooper. Thanks Quote
