I can confirm that this is the right pattern. Made a few custom pauldrons myself from the pattern. There's also a PDF version of that pattern flying around on the FISD and MEPD boards. If you have the PDF it's important to print it in A3 to get the right size. For the material: Most of it is vinyl leather. Only the black parts with the two buttons that go around the neck are made from real leather.

Hello there, currently collecting all the stuff to create a sandtrooper. I know from other detachments, that building threads are a great way to do it right. Is that the case here too? Because I looked for existing building threads but they're rare. Is it because a lot of users don't build a sandie from scratch but modify an existing TK instead?

The IOC did the same with those extra rockers to showcase the costume level. The run was very popular IIRC.
