  1. I have glued the body, the thighs, shoulder bells, and the arms. I will try them on tomorrow and get more photos. I am just waiting on the backpack and the blaster. I am also needing to complete the helmet and get this armor all nice and dirty.
  2. Here are more photos from today's work. I almost there!
  3. There is an another thread on the SE research that I used as basis for my research and I also used the one on the whitearmor.net. Here is what I have found and I hope this further helps to complete the CRL and possible PO and SWAT reference builds. Starting from left to right: Trooper 1: wearing RotJ TK boots, missing ammo pouch from belt, no rivets on the belt for holster, standard RotJ suit, ANH pauldron, no foam padding inside shoulder bell, RotJ E-11, and standard backpack. Trooper 2: small separation of white U-trim around the thigh, no white U-trim on the bottom of the chest plate, RotJ boots, ANH pauldron, no foam underneath shoulder bells, standard RotJ suit, no rivets on belt for holster, RotJ E-11, and standard backpack. Trooper 3: RotJ armor suit, ANH TK boots, foam padding underneath shoulder bell, RotJ E-11, neoprene or rubber pauldron, not sure on the rivets on the belt, I believe the last two troopers are using a 1st version of the backpack (need to confirm with Crooknight). Trooper 4: weathered heavily compared to the other four, neoprene or rubber pauldron, RotJ armor suit, RotJ E-11, ANH TK boots, not sure on the rivets, and 1st version backpack (?) The trooper above is Ted Gagliano and he did not move in this scene and is the fifth SE sandtrooper. He is using a RotJ armor suit, has rivets on the belt from where the holster should have been, backpack, RoTJ E-11, and no TK boots (wearing shoes) as he did not want to move in the sand. See photo below. I plan to update as I find more information, but I believe this is all that there is on the SE sandtroopers. I hope to find more photos...
  4. Here are the latest photos and I am installing the belt on the armor tomorrow. A HUGE shout out to Paul of TM for the kit and for making this as easy as possible. I appreciate him very much and recommend him for the RotJ kit.
  5. I am sorry I have not updated this thread. I have had a hard time with the loss of my friends and working on the helmet. I am not posting all of the photos, as there are too many. I am uploading what I think you all want to see and I am almost to the finish line. Stand by for more photos!
  6. The costume has been put on hold as I had two dear friends die this week of cancer. I will resume things once the dust settles and thanks for any thoughts.
  7. After reviewing the latest rendition of the SE TD CRL, I wanted to chime in with some information from my research and current build. I believe the CRL should NOT allow any use of ANH or TESB armor. There should not be any basic level that allows for this and ALL levels should require ROTJ armor. I believe that using any armor from ANH or TESB, it will not help to differentiate between a 1977 TD to a 1997 TD. There are no mods to their armor at all. It is simply a ROTJ cast and it gives the SE TD its unique and specific look that we see on screen. The boots can be from ROTJ or ANH as two of the five costumes are using ROTJ (all white) boots, the back pack should NOT be optional as all SE TDs are visually wearing them on screen, and I know I was not part of the conversation two years ago so I hope you will take this into consideration. Your dirty brother in arms!
  8. I appreciate the file and yes it will be need to updated quite a bit. Here is what I found in my research as well as the photos I have. NO ANH or ESB armor will work, even for lower levels as All SE sandtroopers are using ROTJ replica armors from the Star Wars tours in 1995. There are no mods to their armor at all. It simply a ROTJ cast and utilizes all of the ROTJ CRL (exception is the shoulder straps) . Must be a black ANH pauldron or a rubber cast pauldron to simulate an ANH look. Shoulder bells must have foam padding inside. Boots can be from ROTJ or ANH. Back pack should NOT be optional as all SE sandtroopers are visually wearing them on screen. ROTJ E-11 blaster only. That should do it for the SE sandtrooper and I have photos to prove all that is mentioned above. I am so excited to work on this and plan to update the thread this weekend with new photos. I have been working on the trimming and plan to sand this weekend. Thanks!
  9. You will need ROTJ gloves and hand plates, a different sniper knee plate, and a black pauldron. I hope to have this done soon and best of luck on your armor.
  10. All SE Sandtroopers are wearing a back pack, so it should not be optional. I hope you will follow along as I have just finished all the trimming and will be sanding this weekend.
  11. Armor arrived on Friday and I have begun the trimming process. I will take photos after the trimming is complete and after I have sanded down the edges. The overlap system of the RotJ is much easier than the ANH Sandy. Is there any chance I could be provided with the draft of the SE Sandy CRL to follow?
  12. Yes I wear it underneath the armor across the chest and it helps so much. I hope this helps you.
  13. Update!!! The armor will be here Friday and CrookKnight will post updates on the backpack. I hope to start on it Saturday.
  14. Troop #18 Date: 2019/08/10 Event: UMC Hospital Visit Location: Lubbock, TX
  15. The only CG troopers are the ones on dewback. There are five SE sandtroopers and one of them is a shared armor trooper, so four on film. I will post all of my research once I get it all together. I even found the Star Wars Insider book, circa 2000, that lays out the plan for the additional filming scene as well as location. The SE research thread build provides a lot of information and is a great starting point.
  16. I had to fix the shoulder once and the neck has hairline cracks. I used CA glue along with plastic to hold and ABS paste on the top side. Hausi is correct on how to fix it and it happens with the armor. My buddy has a TK so we used his left over ABS. Remember that the armor used in the film was never meant for practical purpose in our world. You will see once you start trooping in it, but it is so much fun!
  17. I appreciate that very much sir. My first experience of Star Wars on the big screen was the SE version, so I am more attached to them than others. Also, maybe we could create a SWAT level for them! That would be awesome!
  18. TM RotJ Kit has been shipped and should be here next week. I have 3D printed the RotJ blaster and that is ready for assembly. My TK friend and I will be working on it and it should be done by the end of this month as long as we do not have any issues. I am still waiting on the backpack from Crooknight and he is posting updates on this thread as he can.
  19. I have an RS prop commissioned costume and I had to make many changes for the PO clearance (new pouches, backpack changes, armor changes). I also weathered the armor and it is not that hard to clean off their weathering at all, I just used soap and water and it was gone. I wanted a much more weathered approach and did it on my own. I left the hook and strapping kit and it has been fine for me. I have had to make repairs on the armor, but that is common and happens with troops. I have not had to make any changes to the hooks or straps. I love their kit and I am soon working on a SE sandtrooper.
