  1. Hey guys, to clarify we do ask Dirtyboy (Rick) and Quartermaster (John) to supply packs in the best way for the client, be it direct contact or shipping to them if in the US or via us. We are also making some up currently, parts from Rick. We feel this is the best way to operate for the community. They are both well known for being high quality and this sits with us very well. We do the same with other parts to, such as holsters and pauldrons. We did it with other components like the E-11 to begin with, but we were let down and could not be supplied with the quality or quantity so had to produce our own, I can;t see that being the case with packs and=y time soon, Rick and John are both great to deal with. Pack builds on from today.....
  2. Interesting thread for sure. Paul is 100% correct, this armour does indeed appear to be a re-cast of our armour (based on the imges shown). For the maker to claim the sculpts were destroyed whilst making the tools, without so much of an images of the sculpts before the process was carried out is a bad joke, does this story stand up within our community? I can confirm that no permissions have been given to anyone in relation to recasting our armour. To clarify, our armour is cast directly from an original suit AND is endorsed by the original sculptor, Brian Muir. Rob.
  3. Rolf, you better be getting your Copenhagen buttt to CEII bro, there will be a tall cold beer waiting for you. Rob.
  4. Thanks for the support guys and the permissions on the logo Rick, this should be a great part of the weekend. So, I thought I should share some of the build images, and John may chip some pack images in along the line. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend with Anthony towards the end of last year and I have to say he is a great guy, very interesting and we had a real blast. Taking his measurements Trademark High High Brow, with plenty of curvature, seen next to a more typical stunt brow. Limbs sized and gaffer taped together Adding the metal brackets..... ...and split rivets
  5. Hi Guys So after quite some time we are now in the final stages of getting Anthony Forrest back in armour, for the first time since he filmed in Tunisia. This was discussed with Anthony back in May of 2012 and he agreed to suit up, but the right time to do this had not presented itself....until Celebration Europe in Essen was announced. We have since been aiming for this to be the place to share Anthony in armour with as many MEPD brothers as possible and that time is very close by now. We have so far received conformation that the 501st booth at the event would like to stage the dressing, which seems like the perfect place to hold this and we know from experience how welcoming the German Garrison are. As the timing and details become confirmed I will post them here and/or in a fresh topic, maybe this would be a good time to get a group shot when Anthony is suited up? I personally remember the excitement around Jeremy Bulloch wearing his costume, so I hope we can recreate something as special with the MEPD right here with Celebration as our playground. The suit has been supplied and assembled by us, with John (Quartermaster) supplying a fully finished pack and Jay (Trooper 1) supplying one of his pauldrons, so we aim to get Anthony cleared as SWAT As I stated, the moment we have the final details they will be shared here. Lets hope Celebration is shaping up the way you expected. Some crew will be required to assist Anthony and we are looking to have some t shirts made for those crewing and to commemorate the occasion, but we need permissions to use the MEPD logo, if anyone can help with this?
  6. Hi Guys Well, I don't know if you are aware, but Anthony will be attending Celebration and spending some time with us guys, in and around the event. He will also be suiting up with us, his first time in armour since filming. We will be looking for some helpers to suit him up and Sandtrooper to support him in armour as we "Police" the event. The suit has been built by us, with parts from Jay (Trooper 1) and John (Quartermaster) to complete. We are looking to get some Crew shirts made for the event too, but I need to get permissions to include the MEPD & 501st Logos. Anthony will be suiting up on the 5011st stand, exact details to follow very soon. Best, Rob.
  7. Playing with white plastic.

  8. Looking forward to seeing the complete suit photos being posted bro.
  9. Yeah Marcus, they are a great guide, from there you can trim to get the perfect fit for your indinidual build.
  10. It's interesting reading about the suit being difficult to build. I see lots of builds where the suit it put together so it all fits together perfectly, with uniform return edges and looking amazing, but, that is just not how the original suits were made. They were rough, really rough, I can't stress that enough. Return edges that look like the we're hacked at with knives and scissors (I don't think the dremell exsisted in 76). The suits were thrown together, all the same size and trimmed out as an when required. The leg cover strips are 20mm, some are 23mm they run out of square so can be 20mm at one end and 23mm at the other (25mm shin backs). Rolf, I like your comment about unlearning, I think you got it there. Take a step back and just jump in. Start at the front cover strip, the back will be what it will be. The torso really looks after itself, trim with a return edge just big enough to take the bolts (if using them or not). Maybe the worst trim line is the shoulder bell. The original is rough, trimmed with scissors. When we formed them we had no idea where to trim the fresh plastic. So we created templates to trim to, which we mark on every set, as we do with ears internally now to help get a better fit. If you try and build the suit too perfectly it will be a difficult build, and it will not be the best result. it's a replica of an unperfect suit and that's the point, the details may look rough on thier own, but as a whole it's, we'll perfect. Rob.
