Newbie helmet question

Looking thru the CRL, the helmet acceptance for the third level states that "No FX, MRCE, or ANHv2 helmets are allowed.

Been around long enough to know what and how bad the FX helmet was/is, but what is a ANHv2 lid? Is that from a particular seller? Something outdated?

check this out (and i hope this is the right answer for your question;-) )

The bucket is a 'one peace' bucket that means that there is no seperate face and back plate. One mould for the whole bucket. It's a nice construction but not movie accurate;-)

I'd like to just latch on to this thread, vice starting another one. I'm a returning 501st member. I joined up back in '02, but went away from everything. I'm back now and although I know it's not the best out there, I was given an FX kit. I'm selling off the bucket kit and in search of a new one. After talking to a friend of mine who put together a TD, I think I'm going to make the FX armor a sandy. I was told that ATA helmets match FX armor fairly well color wise. Anyone have any input on that and if I'm going the TD route, does it really matter that color of the ABS??

I'm pretty new here, but absorb info like a sponge. ABS varies batch to batch slightly. If you're going more screen accurate, I'd paint the helmet with Rustoleum industrial gloss white and not worry too much on slight difference . The real ones were painted, and after seeing some of the "chipped" effects added to lids I gotta throw down a little mint green then some masking fluid to capture some of that.

If you don't paint it though, I'd wager that after weathering and the fact that you have the pauldron and a pouch in between the whites, you'd never notice any ABS color difference.

Marcus, FX armor as a TD can be made to match just about any helmet you get as long as it's not super glossy.

Your weathering everything, so it is pretty easy to blend the weathering to hide the abs color defects.

As long as they are not 3-4 shade differences in white you can cover with layering.

Hope this helps
