Hi, I'm Peter from Poland. I'm new in this forum.

In near future I want to build my own sand armor. For me and my son (10).

Recently I've made Boba Fett for my son. (He'll wear it at CEII Essen)

Now I'm preparing :

- my own design of mandalorian pilot (also for Essen :D)

http://mercs.firespr...p?topic=37114.0

- Boba Fett Z-6 jetpack

http://mercs.firespr...p?topic=62868.0

- customizable mando helmet

It's enough ? No !! :D

Last month I worked on radio for sandtrooper backpack. I've almost finished it.

The first user of my radio will be my friend - Sternik (http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showuser=5500).

Thank You very much, Sternik :D.

Of course I made it from scratch. In my opinion drawings which are available in web have a lot of errors, so in the first step I made drawings (in CorelDraw) of backpack after analyzing of reference images. This is "Move along" version.

After this I cut all parts of radio front panel on laser cutter

The front panel of radio after gluing and sanding. Parts are cut by laser cutter and layers were bonded to achieve the desired thickness of the elements.

Much better radio front panel looks after painting with primer - ready to take the mold !!

Next steps were building of knobs, side handles, box and of course silicone molds of all parts :).

 Fantastic! Can the knobs turn or are they glued in place? Also is it possible to open the radio somehow?

Great work on this. Just for the fun of it, I would love to turn one these into a working radio.

No problem. I'll be ready with it about half of November. You'll make to Yourself awesome surprise under Xmas tree :D.

I must check costs of shipping to USA because it will be my first time :D.

PS. If You want also leather-like band around box - now I'm checking some ways to realise it. I think that it will cost 10USD/7EU

Hello Piotr,

That sounds great! I like the idea of having the leather-like band, too. I really appreciate you putting together these radios! The quality is outstanding.

Please let me know how much I owe you and the best way to pay you, OK?

All the best,
