  1. Lots of progress today. First thing I focused on was the radio. I used some scrap ABS to make two "L" bracket for mounting the radio to the seed tray. I also experimented a few different way to attach the radio faceplate since I want to have an MP3/Speaker inside playing the radio chatter.. I tried hinges and then magnets, but, I wasn't really happy on how secure the face plate was. I settled on using some more scrap ABS to make two bridges, and then used 2" velcro. Very secure. Reading this thread, http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=13904, was probably the worst thing I could have done. Just kidding, the more I research, the more I want to tweak my build. I ordered two jack plugs that I plan on installing, but I also had my wife sew a strip of black vinyl which I then glued to the outside of the radio box. I was then able to quickly put together the upper part of the pack, and mount it to the frame. I started work on the lower seed tray, and attached the bee stinger with a couple more ABS bracket painted to look like aluminum. This is where I stand this afternoon. Tomorrow I hope to finish up the radio, mount the Intake Valve and radio, and finish the pack up.
  2. Wife poking her head in the garage. Her - "Why are you giggling like a little kid"? Me - "Because I just made an intake manifold". Her - "Looks like something out of a toilet". Me - SMH
  3. Finally got a break in the weather so I was able to make some progress. All the parts received primer and paint. Now I'm going to let things sit and cure overnight. Also, the decals for the radio from Trooperbay arrived, so I'll be playing with those tomorrow. Still waiting on some nylon nuts and bolts to arrive before I can start assembly.
  4. Dirty Boy, no worries, Bro. I'm sure I'll find a project for the extra pieces. Crashmann- The Gaffer Tape makes so much sense. Thanks. I might try that out. Finished up the pack frame. Now I'm just waiting for some nice weather to prime and paint the other parts.
  5. The squarish greeblies on top of the cistern, is their an official size? Also, I assume you heat them up to get them to form to the top? Thanks. I plan on making them out of some scrap ABS.
  6. Thanks for the pictures. I had already shortened the TD plate, but, I see I should probably trim it up some more. Great looking pack. I was able to finish up the frame today, and I started working on the radio. I'll post some pics after everything dries.
  7. Spent the morning putting the frame together. Used a heat gun to bend the side rails, and E6000 to join everything together. I also spent some time lightly sanding and cleaning the parts in preparation for primer and paint.
  8. Now I believe I read somewhere that the Pack 4 radar dish doesn't have a backer? Besides being faced outboard.
  9. Thank you. I believe the smaller white PVC rings go to the mortar tube?
  10. You did include some PVC pipe, (1" x 3")?, which I can put on the left side of the upper feed tray.
  11. Yeah, but I asked for a Alley Check Pack. Or, Pack 4 when I PM'd you. So, I'm going to go with that. I think with the addition of the Stow and Go, I should have everything I need, yes?
  12. Ok, a little more research and I've figured out I have the bracket in the top left side of the backpack frame the wrong way. Also, I don't think that project box is suppose to go on the upper seed tray. I found a Tuppercraft Stow n Go 767-1 on the 'Bay and have ordered it.
  13. Hello; Whenever my Anovos Kit arrives I plan on making a TD out of it. Since I already have an E11 and black pauldron from my IG, I plan on going with the Alley Check Private (http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7297) So while I'm waiting I plan on building Pack #4. I contacted Dirty Boy and he sent me a kit. I've laid everything out and think I know where most of the parts go. I can't tell if this is how the frame should look. And then I have some extra bits and pieces that I'm not sure what to do with. Any advice? After taking the picture, I realized the small black disc in the lower right goes on the radio. I'm looking forward to this build, and have been studying previous build threads. I love how the props department just took random bits and pieces and turned them into something so outlandish. Thanks for any help.
