  1. I am piecing together my Sandtrooper and while fitting it together, realized I have a gap on the side of my sandharooper armor where the front ab plate connects to the kidney plate. Even with the elastic, its still a bit snug, Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, is it okay to add an extender plate to the front ab on the side so its flush with the kidney plate? I'm not a big guy but I'm also not skinny and it's just to tight as is and I'm looking for options to make it work but still get approved. thanks
  2. The good news is I paid to have the helmet put together by RS prop masters. The only thing I don't like is the flimsy lens so I ordered a thicker one through trooper day.
  3. The sand trooper I picked is a captain called docking bay 94V2 tuck and roll. I built a costume before but not to swat standards and the build packet from RS prop masters came with a lot of little flat head screws and other things I've never seen before so I want to get it right and that's why I was hoping to find instructions or video from swat that will keep it correct. Will definitely check out that thread you just attached thank you.
  4. I just received my RS Prop Masters costume and will begin building my Sandtrooper shortly. Can anyone recommend a video on youtube or does someone have a set of instructions in building this to SWAT standards? I plan on reaching out to RS for help which they said they provide but I also want to build this to the highest standards. This will be my 2nd costume I've built so I have an idea of what I'm preparing to do but I want to do this right the first time and try to avoid having to fix mistakes. I have quite a bit of Zap a Gap, rivets, and I ordered the box of extra's from RS needed in putting this thing together so I believe I'm ready. Anyone have anything related to do's and don'ts for a Sandtrooper they can share? thanks Scott Golladay

  6. My name is Scott and I just signed up today so I could begin posting to this forum. I live in the Cincinnati area and I've started researching my next costume build. I currently have a Sandtrooper costume that I put together myself and it's not bad, but I want something I can get approved by the 501st. The costume I have now is one I purchased on ebay and was originally going to be a Stormtrooper until I realized the Sandtroopers were much cooler and it was easier to hide the scratches so I converted it over. But now I want one that is screen correct so instead of trying to correct a number of things with my current costume, I decided now was a good time to build a new one but with all the right parts and pieces. I would be interested in feedback on which sites are best to purchase from and in particular, this RS Prop Masters site which is what I'm leaning towards at the moment. If there are any costume builds in the Cincinnati/Dayton area, I would be interested in joining just to learn how these things are properly done. Once I'm done with mine I have my sons costume to build next so any tips or best practices are most appreciated. I almost lost my thumb trying to modify the inside of my first helmet with a box cutter so while I'm not afraid to build something, I would like to have full use of my hands when this is over. I have a facebook page which has my pictures of my current costume if you want to check it out. Thanks Scott Golladay
