sportsanchor
Hey guys, I purchased some olive-green MP-40 ammo pouches over the weekend. They should arrive before this weekend. This morning, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a canister of black dye which I will need to apply to the ammo pouch. I need some advice on the best way to apply the dye. Thanks in advance, Brent TD-1044 GLG

nick.black
Applying it with a paintbrush seems the best way, make sure you do the whole thing in one coat, to avoid differences in appearance. And do as many coats as you feel necassary, making sure the metal and leather hardwear is wiped clean. Nick
darthgrace
What kind of dye is everyone using? Leather dye (even though this is canvass)? RIT or some other dye for cloth?

Zon
I used RIT and just mixed it in a bucket. Stirring the contents every once in a while. It didn't turn the pouch completely black but I prefer it the color it came out.

Rolf
I used spray paint Came out great !!! I use humbrol brush paint, it makes the pouch stiff and solid and do not make any marks on the suit either. A good trick, no matter what paint you use, is to add: Cardboard/thick peper in the pouch drying, that way it get the right shape, as there have been machine gun mag´s in the pouch:

FIVE
I did spray paint on mine too... that way they're really still a little green. You don't want them BLACK.
pandatrooper
Liquid Rit dye worked perfect on mine. Slightly green tinged black.
