TD-1536
so, if both of you have so many of them... share them with us... Well, if the part is exact, I wonder what harm there would be in filling them with Hydrocal, and vac-forming copies. Any dispute over recasting vintage Tupperware?! hpdblues
Hey gang, I hope that those dessert cups come in varying sizes! Mrs. "GUNS" has a set of those dessert cups and when I told her about the recent discovery of suspected backpack parts, she dug through her stash and we were disappointed to find that the "cup" is TOO small in proportion to the other parts. Alas, our search continues... Guns

BlackWolf13
What are the dimensions on those dessert cups? I'm pretty sure I know where I can find half a dozen of them.

BlackWolf13
No problem. I'm pretty sure my folks have some. I'm just not too sure on the size. I don't want to get my hopes up and run into the same problem Guns ran into.

BlackWolf13
Will do. From looking at the reference pics, the cups (or whatever were used on the backpacks) look to be about 3 inches across. Anyone know if that's close or not?

Anyone know if that's close or not? Mine are about three inches across. However, I do stress that while accurate-looking, they are not entirely accurate to what was actually used. Here's a completed shot of mine. They are sitting on top of 15oz. Metamucil bottles, which both unscrew so I can store stuff in them if need be. SethB6025
I just picked up some on ebay. They look pretty darn close. The pack is such a nightmare of bits & pieces. I doubt, even if you could have been present when they were assembled, that you'd be able to ID very much of it. From what I understand they (the prop guys for ANH) had numerous bins marked "greeblies" full of misc junk used to build all sorts of things. BlackWolf13
Cool! They look close enough to suit my needs and more importantly, my budget. I'm hoping the ones my folks have are the same ones. I doubt they'll miss them. I don't recall ever seeing them use them anyway. They may as well get put to good use.
Robster
Will there be any extra?I would love to get a hold of some if anyone can help me out with extras!!
BlackWolf13
No idea yet. Right now, I'll settle for the ones my folks have being the right ones.
TD 8733
Master Modelers medium blue is dead on for the screen pack color. Marmits and Kotobukiyas pack color choice is not even close. They tend to be grey or turquoise. Pick up a can and see what you think.
TK9965
I just found four of the dessert cups on ebay. Buy It Now was $3.00. There are a ton of these on ebay right now. Make sure to get the vintage ones though. The newer ones don't have the right shape.
trooperexpert
Just as a side note, on another thread I reprted that I found the basis for the bellows pump on the packs! YAY! sadly not the top though.. Just the main body of it... BUT! One more piece to go and I think we have this all figured out for the hardest to find parts! WOOHOO!
