Yeah, as the CRL is written I don't think the ear screws won't keep you from deployment.

All it says now is, "Ears should have three screws used per side, one above and below the ear bump and one at the base of the helmet."

But, that would be a nice detail and quick and easy fix for sure.

AND... it really needs to be added into the CRL as a deployment issue I think. B)

Otherwise I think you're looking really good man!!

Let's hear from Dirty Boy and possibly Juan (he's with his little girl a lot "right now" though) and we'll move along from there. :salute:

I think you look great man and you should have no problem with deployment.

I agree the screws should be added to the crl but won't keep you from deployment.

A quick tip for your thighs is to throw some foam at the base...it will make your thighs line up with your shins better and help with the sound your armor makes when you walk. It really helped when I did with my armor.

Again though...great job bro :)

Hey Lee, two adjustments will need to be made on the pack. The first would require the bend on the frame to be in the center as opposed to the upper side. The second would require the bee stinger to be moved over more to the left and not so much in the center. Both fairly easy to accomplish and will give you a more consistent look.

otherwise, I think you are set to go. Nice work :)

BTW, let me know if you need help with the bending

Hey Lee!

Thats a very cool TD you've got.

Great work so far.

As mentioned, there are a few corrections you might want to make to your armor to make it more accurate. Some of them will affect your deployment, some wont.

Little details are what we separates MEPD Deployed Police Officers from regular 501st TDs. You are almost there bro, so a couple extra mods and you will be done!

Here you go:

Mods needed for deployment:

-Correct frame bent. As pointed by Dirty Boy, the bent should be on the center of the tube so that each tray rests on each section, divided by the bent. The look of your trays is good, but you will still need the correct 155 degree bent.

-Repositioning of the bee stinger, just make it hand a bit more to the left, opposite from the canister.

NOT needed for deployment, but would be great to have:

-Correct screws on ears. You want to have brass slot screws like this ones:

And then painted white. (any other color for the screw (not brass) works too).

-Black elastic on the shoulder bell and around the biceps.

And, I noticed you have white elastic strapping your shoulder bell and shoulder strap. Maybe change that for black so that it does not stands out from the black undersuit.

Thats it bro.

If you need anything or have a question, pls post... or PM!!

And I would take Dirty Boys offer!! He knows his backpacks for sure.

Saludos.

Juan

BTW, Awesome weathering!

  • 2 weeks later...

question: is the pack required for deployment?

Yes, it is bro.

Check the specific over the CRL http://www.mepd.net/crl/

The MEPD Police Officer program aka Deployment requires Troopers to build their armor so to portrait what we, as a detachment, feel that is the idealized most representative features of the seen on screen (ANH) Sandtroopers. So, eventhough there are a few TDs with no pack on ANH, we think that having it is a must to correctly represent the idea of a TD.

:D

How are you doing with your mods and upgrades?

Need any help?

If you have any other question or doubt, feel free to post or PM me...

Saludos.
