T-21 BFG run from The WoodChuck

Recommended Posts

Woodchuck here. I am going to start a run of T-21's on Jan 14th.

How many troopers are ready to confirm an order at this time?

If you have PM'd me already, please reply to this thread,

as I had some PC issues here and lost a lot of PM's, messages, and replies.

Photos of my version of the T-21 can be seen here: http://woodchuck.imperial-web.com

However, I am going to add an ON/OFF switch in the trigger,

and make the front section of the barrel hollow.

$325 plus shipping. All overseas purchases will ship UNPAINTED to keep the customs officials happy.

is the on/off switch pretty much if we choose to add audio/lighting i assume?

Pat-Have you ever (knock on wood) dropped or walked into something with your t21? How would you say the durability is? I would cry if i somehow managed to break it since its all made out of wood.

Hey Peter,

I've never ran into anything with it. The end with the stock, trigger, etc is solid wood throughout. The muzzle is also a solid piece of wood with plastic tubing around it. The two pieces are held together with a single screw, also very sturdy. The only thing I can see being fragile is the gun sight which sits above the barrel. It could break off if banged against something.

Hope this helps.

Filled my MEPD mug a few times and made up my mind. Add me to the list, I'm in. B)

*jealous* I want a deployed mug!! =p

that makes it a total of 3 of us now?

Chuck, so the on/off will be new for 2011 builds?

WoodChuck here. yes the ON/OFF switch is a new upgrade.

I finally had the cataract surgery on my RIGHT eye, as the LEFT eye was done on OCT 13th, and that was a mess. The lens they implanted was the wrong correction, so that had to heal completely before I could get a piggy-back lens put in on top of the first one. Now it appears they got it right the first time with my RIGHT eye, I can see without glasses.

I am going to start this run NLT JAN 24th, instead of JAN 14th, because my eye has to heal before I can get it loaded with sawdust.

Here is the 2011 T-21 BFG official run list:

1. Merk Man

2. TB-2945

3. Peter

4.TD-9323

I will contact each of you when the build begins to comfirm your interst at that time.

WIP photos will follow once I can get on this project...........

Ugh, now I'm tempted too. Must need more beer. Pricing is fantastic too, and my old Cushman while great for parades is starting to show it's age...mmm...good thing there is more time to decide :)

Is it possible to get an upgrade i.e. new barrel and switch for a 2008 model?

Woodchuck here. No..........................LOL

Can I ask you to PM me after i get started on the run? I haven't built the switches yet, so I have no idea how big a deal it's going to be, and the same goes for making the front barrel hollow. Right now i think it would be cheaper for you to send me your BFG for modification, but again, until i know what I am doing, right now I have to say..no.

Thanks

Chuck

WoodChuck here. This project has begun. Here is the first WIP photo:

Posted Image

I started with the front barrel and coupler mods.

My bro-in-law turns the front section of the T-21 barrel,

and the coupler that connects the receiver to the barrel,

from a piece of solid pine or poplar.

Then I used my band saw and cut out the center portion of each piece.

This gives an opening'with about a two inch diameter.

If I make the hole any bigger, the wood barrel would lose it's strength.

Enjoy,

Chuck
